URS

GENDER: Masculine
USAGE: German
PRONOUNCED: UWRS [key]
Meaning & History
German form of the Latin name Ursus, which meant "bear". Saint Ursus was a 3rd-century soldier in the Theban Legion who was martyred with Saint Victor. He is the patron saint of Solothurn in Switzerland.
seriously,? That's NOT how i meant it - Any any reference to God or Christianity or religion in this case was NOT purposely intended..and have already apologised above. By Christian name i mean and meant and will always mean if i ever "slip up" God forbid and use "that" word again - FIRST name - and i'll correct the opening post, ok? you just *had* to add your little bit even though i had said sorry with sincerity about that. It'll be funny if URS *is* a Christian.. that'll teach ya.
:oops;
No this is not what he meant.

Sorry Theo. it was an innocent comment mate. Didn't mean to throw you further into the proverbial.

No worries... I've just quoted what the name "Urs" means and where it comes from... I suppose that Urs *is* Christian...

I think I just saw a Zebra on the other side of the street, giving a sh*t about all of this. Maybe it was detuned in the first place?

Now how is cleaning up the mess? Though some are definitely into that genre. Or was it called Complextro?

"Hi Theo,

I have seen you repeatedly referring to Urs Heckmann as "URS", which is incorrect and perhaps confusing to some, because that's the name of another plug-in developer ('Unique Recording Software" - http://www.ursplugins.com/ ). Since I have the impression that you're generally trying to be as accurate as possible in your posts, I hope you appreciate me nitpicking here. No offense intended, anyway, just a friendly hint. "

from some random i have never even spoken to before..
Well.. seems a very polite and friendly hint from a fellow KVR member to me  Why did you get so upset about it?

And why would you write Urs as URS every time anyway? :) Any particular reason?

When my one-year-old son wants some attention, he starts to cough theatrically. It's hard to be mad at him, though, because he's cute as hell.

Awesome thread. I bet Urs is just thrilled to have such great convos in his forum. ;)

Someone takes a minute to PM you privately to give you a heads up that that's a confusing way to write the name in light of the other company's name, obviously so as not make you embarrassed in public or make you feel dumb, and you don't answer them but instead create a public post to create drama about it and make them feel dumb? Way to repay the courtesy.

I think I've noticed you spelling his name with all caps as well and thought that's strange, that makes it look like the URS company, but couldn't care enough to comment. Obviously it's the all caps they are commenting on, not the use of his first name, which everybody uses. If you really didn't understand that's what they were getting at, maybe answering the PM would have been the way to go.

That's what you call "Picking on you"? My goodness, how can they be so cold.

I guess I'd better apologize in advance for picking on you with this post, in case you go and write an epic novel of a post about some random having the nerve to call you on your BS. I also apologize for anyone else in this thread who is pointing that the PM seemed quite reasonable and polite, since they are clearly picking on you too.

It's all Urs' fault.
How dare he be named with the same name as another company.
That was bound to cause confusion. He outta be ashamed of himself.

FWIW, I have been confused about the companies/developers URS and U-he a couple of times, so although I wouldn't go so far as to write a PM to anyone about it, I think it's a valid point to make. And he was very polite about it, aware that it could easily be taken the wrong way and making it very clear that he didn't want that.

I wonder how long it will take for a violent fistfight to begin. (and I love when threads start derailing in a talking-about-my-baby way :D )

To be honest, that pm seems like an attempt to troll to me, but who knows. Of course, making a whole thread out of it is another story. :hihi:

Hmmm.. you might be right

Maybe it wasn't that obvious about the caps and it's all a misunderstanding :-o
