Anyone had luck with MIDI out ? I tried different ports on different devices but eitheir it crashes right away or as soon as I touch one knob. Would love to record my perf using MIDI. Would be also nice that the recorder could capture midi, recording and playing in loops.

I frequent several iOS music forums, and a big complaint is being stuck in portrait mode-I've seen dozens of comments on this, and for many people, it is a deal breaker.

Shouldn't take much investigating whether you should add it or not-people really want this feature, please implement it!

This claims to work with Jack but that does not seem to be the case unless there is a hidden switch somewhere...

There are certain effects that need some more CPU (Vocodizer, Spectralizer).
You won't be able to use more then 2-4 of them simultanously on an iPad 2. Anyway most of the effects are really low on CPU and it should be no problem to run 8 loopers on an iPad 1. Also make sure that there are no other apps running in the background. After a reboot you will have the most processing power.
You can also lower the latency in Turnado to gain some processing power.
We are currently investigating the auria integration.
We are also investigating whether to implement landscape mode.
Note that the iOS 5.x issues will be fixed with the upcoming 1.0.1 update.
We propably won't make it a remote app for the VST/AU version, because we thing there are good generic MIDI remote apps out there.

I finally noticed the vocoder issues on my iPad 2, but I can definitely live with that, since everything else runs great.

Good to know about starting from a clean boot (and makes sense).

Thank you for considering landscape mode. If you decide to implement it, I believe it will be a great improvement.

As others have responded... I too would like to see this as a remote app (but I'm not a Turnado plugin owner yet, so I can't reap the benefits of that workflow).

Really loving this app, so much fun. And runs surprisingly well on iPad 2. I'm +1 for an Auria port of this one, Aurias extensive automation system (and loop+time stretch handling) together with Turnado would be awesome since Turnado screams for automation.

When you do implement landscape mode, please put

the xy-controllers,
the dictator fader,
8 vertical faders representing the 8 knobs,
the recorder/player
and global preset selection

all on one performance page. The vertical faders could be "ribbon" style design-wise.

I love this thing, it's always in the Audiobus effect slot. I really miss having it on the iPhone tho, is there any chance for a universal update down the road (or an iPhone version)? Audiobus on iPhone kinda feels a bit dead without a Turnado.

I definitely can see the interface, although chopped up into sections you slide between, working really well on a 4" screen. 8 knobs will work on 1 screen, 4 x/y will also work on 1 screen, dictator in portrait mode. The "backside", just have 1 screen for each section (LFO 1 one screen -> slide right to get to audio envelope or up to get to the step sequencer etc and so on). Pretty please?
