Actually, it was I who posted about the timing problems of Dropzone or other sample players. I will certainly check out what audiosnap can do and report the results. But I still think it's a shame to waste the capabilities already refined in RXP. Okay, they're not exactly wasted - they can be used live. I'd just like to use them in a midi track.

Okay, please excuse my ignorance. In all the time I've spent with Sonar I have never bounced a midi clip to audio. After Googling a little I found people suggesting using an audio cable to go from the output and patched to the input, which seems extremely awkward and frankly a bit of "the long way around the barn" approach (though I've been known to do just such things but generally in a more experimental setting). Other suggestions included freezing the clip, but from what I've read here and there the term "bounce to audio" sounds more like there's a method to do so in Sonar, without such workarounds. I will keep searching but if anyone can give me a hint I'd really appreciate it.
Incidentally, I realize that this really isn't the thread to be asking these questions. Maybe I should start another, but I certainly appreciate the responses. Thanks!

I'm way back at sonar 5 - Still the most stabile in my opinion. Anyways - I'm just assuming that X2 is similar :Svarg wrote:Okay, please excuse my ignorance. Quite simply - Select the midi track ( or just a clip ) Select the VST audio output track Or multiple outs for mutli's Go to the edit page click on bounce to tracks - select whether you bounce from tracks or busses or the main output : also select aux if you want to mix effects tell it mono or stereo
Click ok.

Okay, I got that figured out. Sorry, it took me awhile to find the right documentation. (I still wonder about those folks running audio patch cords.)
Now I'll try audiosnap.

Okay, I'm not sure if it was specifically "audiosnap" that I used. I think it was "loop construction" but whatever is was, it did the trick and it works every bit as well as RXP's LOOP mode. Thank you so much. I've done a lot with Sonar and, though I'm just getting my feet wet with X2, I'm still exploring things that Sonar has had for some time.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Sorry for getting your name wrong!
I think what you used sounds like groove clips, which is the simpler, lower quality way to do it. If that is working fine great. Check out YouTube, and type in sonar audiosnap, and you'll get some vids on what I was talking about. Also make a habit of right clicking on clips etc, to see what other options come up, you'll learn a lot by doing that on a regular basis.

Yes, I do right click on everything as a first measure to find what I'm looking for. I will look at Youtube for more on audiosnap. Thanks a bunch!
