I'm not sure about the moving of automation sorry 
So I guess u want to leave PDC enabled by reading your last post, PDC-off was just to test the behaviour you've seen with ableton.
All this thread confort me that Ableton is not for me. I wonder if someone will find a clue.
I've seen many youtube videos of guys reproducing big success electro songs in Ableton, theses were full of automations ! But I didn't hear any sync problem in theirs tracks. So I'm wondering too if is there a real workaround.

I didn't follow the life of logic at all (don't like macs
), but maybe you could install Logic 6 on windows, and if the compatibility is not broken import them in logic 9 on your mac ?
