Yes things can always be bettered. This said :

When we had side to side a Synthex and the Synthix in a studio with Paul Wiffen ( Original sound designer for the Synthex library, and also THE man who introduced the Synthex to JMJ or Stevie Wonder ) some Synthix patches were undistinguishable from the real Synthex. Some were. Synthix is not perfect I totally agree, yet it might be the closest Synthex emulation in the soft synth department.
Hmmm the hardsync works and is really nice, very close to the character of the Synthex, except on certain patches, where it could definitely be bettered thats true, on percussive sounds for most part. The Chorus : Dont forget that a lot of Synthex audio exemples, like the famous stacks of strings and brass, use TWO different chorus. If you layer two Synthix, you can get much closer to the original feel ( Took us two days with Paul to realize that when using the dual mode of the Synthex ) Anyway, the Synthix is also much more than these two features but it can be bettered, yes.

This said, when the Synthix 2.0 will be released, it will be much much more than the two things you mention, believe me.

+1

It is very, very easy to do wonderful delay loops on it - something that I was far too lazy to work out how to do with other software previously.

As to the synths, I've bought Oxium, Synthix, Xils3 and XILS V+.
The last two are definitely in a class of their own, whilst Oxium is an extremely easy and modern synth to use.
I like Synthix a lot, but I accept the criticism of it not being extremely Synthex like. However, it is a wonderful sounding soft synth in its own right and its sequencer is brilliant (also, tbh, I have the superb UVI Workstation 'Vintage Synths' and a couple of Kontakt libraries with great Synthex samples on them, so combining these with Synthix gives me many different possibilites of emulating the great Italian synth).

I digress...
Xils V+ is a brilliant vocoder and synth and I look forward to Xils Labs' next software offering.

Cheers.
A big thank you Squigls and Doug1978 :)

Yes I believe Le Masque is one of those delays that can achieve things that no other delay can do, in a fast and intuitive way. there are other advanced delays that have different possibilities. ( I'm afraid I'm a total delay fan  ) Le Masque can be used as your everyday goto delay too.

As for the next Xils units, well, we hope you will be pleasantly surprised. One thing is sure, it ill be another "never seen" AND musical *thing* :)

Thanks! Also thanks to Ingo! It's just a very rough sketch at this point. I am interested to see how it turns out when I finish it.

Hurrah! Finally there'll be a decent emulation of This Plug-in. :wheee:

Maybe its not an emulation this time

Or maybe it is. Nothing fixed yet, we have the choice :)

We had a particular and unusual 6 month long Winter in France :-o . But finally .....

Sunshine

You can hear a bit of V+ in this one. Else, not a single EQ, compressor, tape simulator thing, only a stereo reverb, and a mastering limiter on the main bus. ( BD, HH, and housy small snares, are a battery III stock kit btw, directly in stereo outputs )

i am TOTALLY loving Le Masque dude. It has one of the few filters i have heard with a perfectly pleasing and manageable resonance. Such a quality delay. I want to hear more of your filters. PLEASE sponsor me

Ingonator wrote:I just started a new thread at the Xils Lab forum adding the procedures and screenshots that were posted here concerning using V+ as a Vocoder in different hosts:

http://www.xils-lab.com/xo_phpBB/viewto ... =33&t=3866

I know the videos of Xavier alraedy explain this but i thought having those screenshots and procedures could be helpful too.

I'll try to do updates and/or corrections later if necessary.
Based on a request of a Xils Lab forum member i installed the trial version of Sonar X2 to create screenshots of a vocoder setup in that host:

This was not easy but the first result could be found here:

http://www.xils-lab.com/xo_phpBB/viewto ... 6303#p6303

I am quite new to Sonar (except for some tests in the past) so if you find a better solution you could post it here or at the Xils Lab forum.

UPDATE:
I added two more screenshots with different setups (including external carrier) for Soar X2 at the Xils Lab forum (see link above).

The most important hint about how to use V+ in Sonar i got from this KVR thread:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=256901

without that it was not possible to route MIDI to the V+ FX plugin.
