Hmmm the hardsync works and is really nice, very close to the character of the Synthex, except on certain patches, where it could definitely be bettered thats true, on percussive sounds for most part. The Chorus : Dont forget that a lot of Synthex audio exemples, like the famous stacks of strings and brass, use TWO different chorus. If you layer two Synthix, you can get much closer to the original feel ( Took us two days with Paul to realize that when using the dual mode of the Synthex ) Anyway, the Synthix is also much more than these two features but it can be bettered, yes.electro wrote:Xils should reboot the Synthex's hardsync and BBD Ensemble modelling then call it a Synthix 2.0 like Arturia did with their V2 updates. Hardsync shortcomings can be easily heard in the soundexamples on the site.Lotuzia wrote:Yes things can always be bettered. This said :electro wrote:Synthex was not modelled as well as the VP330. I think even Oxium may be better.
When we had side to side a Synthex and the Synthix in a studio with Paul Wiffen ( Original sound designer for the Synthex library, and also THE man who introduced the Synthex to JMJ or Stevie Wonder ) some Synthix patches were undistinguishable from the real Synthex. Some were. Synthix is not perfect I totally agree, yet it might be the closest Synthex emulation in the soft synth department.
This said, when the Synthix 2.0 will be released, it will be much much more than the two things you mention, believe me.
