Hey,

I currently try to use Uhbik-A with the new Usine 6.0 Release candidates (http://www.sensomusic.org/usine/) in a 4 channel surround setup:

I feed a surround-panned signal into the inputs 1-4 of Uhbik-A.
I get out a signal on all four channels, but only channels 1 and 2 are getting reverb, the others stay dry.

I tried all the settings in the surround dropdown, but they don't seem to make any difference. My guess would have been to use "multichannel" and "all channels".

Am I doing something wrong here or does Uhbik-A somehow fail to realize that there are multiple inputs/outputs used? Can I somehow tell it to use four channels manually?

I guess this has to do with modular DAWs as opposed to normal DAWs and how they tell the plugin how many channels there are?

Thanks for any hints and workarounds.
Would some kind of "manual" setting make sense?

Thanks and cheers,

Tom

I believe with Uhbiks the surround output channels are always available, since dynamic creation of inputs and outputs isn't supported by all plug formats (well, VST2.4 ... AU & VST3 at least claim to do this). Uhbiks just don't push any signal out to unused channels. Shouldn't be completely different.

[e]* With dry c+lfe output channels 3/4 can get dry signals ?

Not using them is back to processing stereo input 1/2 into surround There's a note about this in the manual that sounds like a good reason - I'm not sure I totally get it, never did a lot with surround, two good speakers is hard enough for me to manage :hihi: But that was I think totally wrong.

A host has to support the VST SpeakerArrangement in order for our surround stuff to work. Otherwise they'll assume the host only knows stereo, and thus we only process two channels...

No way around this Urs?
Some special setting to hard-enable surround by renaming the VST?

Too bad :-(

The Ubiks would be great for nodal hosts otherwise...

Well, if it's no possible it's not possible.

Well, we could probably "enforce" suround processing. I'm just not sure when...

hehehe - yeah, mountains of things to do I can imagine ;-)

Well, I'll just have to use multiple instances then - I don't have any other surround capable reverb.

Cheers,
