If you read the thread on the Prodyssey you'll see structure has everything to do with it. The developer had to make a choice between polyphony or authenticity. They chose polyphony in this case and he mentions some of the things that had to be changed to achieve this. He says it was not possible to just switch in a circuit as the way the oscillators interact is completely different in each method. Again this is not my opinion but that of a developer who chose the polyphonic route for their model.

I'm not saying it's impossible to have a polyphonic Oddity as things have moved on since then and no problem is insurmountable, just that it would need some way of having the duophonic mode too or you lose it completely - but it's not just a case of adding more voices. But that's for the developers to worry about. :D

I agree with Mr Arkadian's viewpoint and the Prodessy developer was short sighted ruining the emulation. All I want is a x64 Oddity 2.0 with the latest 0dff filter advancements, Odyssey PPC controls and perhaps some oversampling like NI Monark.

Back in 2002 I could understand the demand for Polyphonic Oddity. It was the first analog sounding native softynth and the only VSTI from 2002 still installed.

If you really need more ARP voices you might want to try Wayoutware

Also consider these eric Beam Oscillators through a filter like the UAD Multimode or Cytomic's Drop.

+1 with Electro. And, as an indulgence, the option to load up skins from the two revisions.

I wish GForce or someone would make a little rubber PPC USB hardware controller.

If not noticed M-Tron Pro and VSM 64bits versions has been released a very few days ago:

Both Oddity and Monark are worthy of dedicated Odyssey and Mini surface controllers. Endless encoders work for a Mini, but for total parameter recall with Odyssey sliders, something like this might work.

Ah yes, back on topic. I'm still trying to get the 32-bit version to unpack. Anyone else having issues with the downloads?

Only install the 64bit version which will give you both 32 and 64bit. If you mistakenly ran the 32bit installer, unistall and repeat with the 64bit installer.

I haven't even managed to unzip the installer, let alone run it.

Would be nice to have the option of switching between duo and poly on an updated Oddity...

I'd also really love it if they updated the original impOSCar and Oddity to 64bit as impOSCar 2 is more CPU hungry than impOSCar and I don't always need the new features. I guess it's just wishful thinking though and I should embrace JBridgeM.

You might be looking for something like this:

Of course that is a prophet5 controller, but it shows that it is possible to make one.

All the best

The Gforce synths are already being ported to x64. Read MrArkadian's posts above regarding the monophonic Oddity argument.

Not the impOscar 1. That won't happen. Because imp 2 has everthing V1 had and totally replaces it.

I can't speak for everyone, but to me it's completely obvious that the wish for polyphonic mode must in no way impact the duophonic mode. This is so obvious I would never have mentioned it until I realized this is the basic for some peoples skepticism about having a polyphonic mode. The idea that it's impossible to have a polyphonic mode and retain the duophonic mode is rather funny. Proof to the contrary exists already in impOscar 2, Diva and Zebra. Of course signals can be rerouted. Synths do it all the time. Effects do it all the time. Whether that's a worthwhile effort on their part to upgrade the Oddity in this regard is unlikely, but I'm sure it would be a hit.

The Novation Remote SL range is excellent for Oddity. Every parameter can be mapped out in a very sensible layout, very similar to the hardware, using only 2 pages.

Where da heck is impOscar 2 64bit by the way?????? Totally different developer than the MTron/VSM, so I doubt they have to be done consecutively...
