I was able to install Tracktion onto my computer, but it doesent start successfully here - the tracktion symbol idles next to the mouse symbol and then finally it "poofs", so I cannot use it. There is no Tracktion start screen popping up etc, so it must be in the early parts of the start. My computer is a AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core 5000+ and I use a 64-bit linux mint (Linux 3.5.0-31-generic which is Linux Mint 14) with KDE 4.9.5 - here is a log of the system:

Thank you for helping - its a great thing that Tracktion is available for linux (but sooner or later - after upgrading my Windows XP to 7 or 8 - I will upgrade my Windows-Version, too :) )

I'm happy to report that T4 4.3.1 .deb launches and runs on my Core2Duo MacMini running Ubuntu 13.04 now. New issues are that with pulseaudio and trying to run the Subway T4 Demo it *grinds* my system to a halt with both cores pegging 100% CPU and making the system unresponsive 'sudo killall Tracktion' was the only way out. I'd try Jack audio, but the T4 windowing is such that the maximize, minimize, close icons are behind my top menu bar so I can't switch to Settings. Still... progress! :-)

Hold alt and click drag anywhere on a window usually lets you move windows when you can't click and drag the title bar, cos it's offscreen. In Ubuntu. At least when they used gnome, dunno if unity works the same, but worth a shot. Might be ctrl and not alt, I forget

That works too.

Actually, without wanting to contradict you (Because the problem is me offering duff advice in the first place ;) ), that generally works in Ubuntu, but I just tried it with Tracktion in Ubuntu Studio 13.04 (which uses XFCE as it's default desktop environment, not Unity or Gnome - if that's relevant) - and it doesn't actually work :D:D

So apologies folks, you can't do that with Tracktion on Linux, or to be precise, it doesn't work in XFCE in Ubuntu Studio 13.04. Your mileage may vary in Unity or Gnome, i've no idea how relevant they are.

It does work with other apps in Ubuntu Studio, firefox, terminal, gedit etc, so it looks like a Tracktion/Juce thing ...

Oh, and for the record, 4.3.0 crashed before anything appeared on screen on this laptop, 4.3.1 looks good so far. Not actually tried getting sound in or out yet, but I can create edits, no obvious issues so far
