Wait for a Christmas sale price on Geist. It's another $70 more than Pulse at sale price, but its a monster of a drum sampler. Thing about Geist is also that you not have to dive particularly deep into it if you don't want, but if you do, it has loads of features and some great expansions you can use just for sounds or deconstruct to figure how it ll works.
BPM might also be a good alternative, but never personally tried it. Just heard good things. Nothing is perfect but there are a few that will leave you satisfied you made a good purchase.

Geist is, by far, the best groove machine/drum machine software I have owned. I own most of them - including the newest NI Battery and I still like Geist more than that.paulbreeze wrote:Thanks to you all. Will check out Geist once I have a time...

It's NFR I think you will find...Teksonik wrote:I purchased Pulse a few months back and regret it....Pulse installs the Pace TPK drivers and proved to be unstable in some of my hosts ( won't load kits in saved songs). Needless to say it will not be installed on my new system. I'm struggling with my conscience if I should sell it on or not.....I'd feel guilty....
