If you need to load a new licence, you need the new software. If you want to transfer a licence between dongles (people do do this y'know), you need the new software. taking a look at the slutz thread will confirm that quite a few users were caught up in this while transferring licenses

also others who have bought products in the last days that need syncing

these seem to be seasoned pro's that would never get caught updating mid-project or until others had put themselves up for sacrifice and everything deemed 100% working

Just checking my iLok account remotely, e.g. iLoks safely offline on another computer. This morning it looks like my Antares licenses are all back to being full licenses. Also for my Soundtoys stuff. So, it appears to have been fixed.

I'll still wait though until I see the confirmation at the Soundtoys site and until I hear the buzz here and from the slutz.

Just making note of the update on the ST website since somebody mentioned that they would hold off until they saw an update from SoundToys.

I'm an iLok user, and a thinking one at that. I don't buy software based on it's copy protection. I buy it based on my needs. No THINKING iLok user would have thought that this issue was going to go unsolved, or that they would actually be losing their licenses.

Sure, it was annoying, but my gosh, it was only a temporary issue. Anyone who claims that it could have been a permanent loss is just being silly.
