In case they want it, they just could ask for it, in my side, i don't have any problem. :)
Maybe they are not interested at all, or the styles don't fit with their tastes or the idea for what the synth was made for, no idea.
Same here :) They can use my songs in any way they see fit to promote their products :) I've got cool toys for free because the devs were generous enough to share them, it will be ungrateful to say "you can't use my tracks" if they want to :)

But I think you're right: after getting only 3/10 dev replies regarding the audio demos I've made for some free synths, I'd say some are not interested in getting feedback/support from their users. I can understand why...it doesn't land well when you put your heart and soul into something and yet it doesn't get the ammount of attention/compliments you've hoped for, so maybe it time they stopped carrying and moved on...who knows.

Like pointed out, it could also be that the developer has envisaged a certain sound, genre or format for the synth and not often all those merge, especially if they prefer real drums as accompaniment too etc.

Huh, and I thought versatility would be more appreciated as opposed to one trick poney instrument :) Oh well :)

You had 46 all in one song/project? If not, and they were rendered out as seperate songs, and then later cut/merged together, I didn't think we were allowed to do that. Or maybe I am way off. :hihi:
I merged the projects, as I needed a seamless tempo change between the tracks (from 85 to 80 bpm), and to rebalance the levels (the second part was way too loud, in comparison with the first).

It's been a nice surprise to see that I could open both projects on Cubase, and copy the tracks from one project to the other one (I needed just to reload Podolski for each track, but the presets was recalled correctly).
Hehe I did the same except that the first sketch I've made finally became the outro of my track (I didn't want to ditch it :p ).

But everything was in the same project since the start.

If I had two projects, maybe I would have rendered them separately then paste one at the end of the other, because copying a project into another in Renoise is too much an hassle. I didn't think this was against the rules since it is not sampling same as rendering a short burst of the synth, and then using it at many place in your track (like the example of rendering drums to stabilize their sound), and maybe pitch it, cut it, reverse it. But rendering a whole track, and then another whole track, and then make one track of it seems to me not against the spirit of the no-sampling rule... What do you think about it V'ger ?

No problem here with that. I see it fair.
And i would prefer if people who make more than one track, they could glue them together in an unique track for ease's sake. :hihi:

For sure this month many of us have noticed how difficult is voting when huge amoung of entries. Right? :hihi:

Have a nice day :)

Hi everyone
I was asked if I could share some of the presets from General Podolski - well of course. The tin-spaceships of the General are for everyone, especially since he's retired.

Please have a look here:

Edit: Now the patches are also here: http://www.kvraudio.com/product/podolsk ... /downloads

Me again. So the idea in General Podolski was this: UHe makes stuff for epic soundtracks, as we already know (Dark Zebra?). Okay. So, some of this epic nature must be found in Podolski as well. I asked myself: how can I create something reflecting this idea? What's the "story" behind it? I needed strings and horns, and I programmed these patches from scratch. (Just remember, a little reverb is a must, just like using the real instruments. Also, use hdsr instead of adsr for accent - like in the arpeggios at the end).
On the other hand, what's Podolski without Podolskis electronica strengths? That's why I started with this image: battlefield - heroic motiv - robo-horses do whatever they like - ambiguous finale.
And then, there were all these great patches inside ... why not using something that is perfect? I tweaked them a little bit, just to fit in the story.

Anyway, I hope you like them.

Good luck to everyone & cheers

One or two people asked for presets for 235.

EDIT: They are now also in the KVR patch archive.

235Cheap Drum Gu - the 'popping' sound. It's a fairly grainy click going in, so gets a big smiley curve EQ off SonEQ with a boost at 100Hz, ~700Hz and hi shelf at 6kHz with an additional resonance cut at 6kHz from TripleEQ. From there it's into reverb, AUMatrixReverb in this case with a fair chunk taken out around 800Hz by the reverb's filter.

235Kick SM-Gu - modification of a Rsmus7 preset which gets practically no processing largely because one of the original ideas was to make this a DnB-style track so I wanted a very 'middy' kick and Podolski could do that just fine. There's some DnB-style slice-and-dice in the MIDI track for the percussion but with a different feel because of the direction I went in with the 'popping' snare.

235 BoomyKick Gu - this is the deep kick which gets some standard kick treatment from the clipper in Limiter6 plus some SonEQ broad-sweep EQing.

235RollySnare Gu - started life as the same preset as Cheap Drum but with some 1/64 delay to give it that roll.

235Bass with attack - Started out as a Hans Hafner preset but less 'sawy' now and more of a deep bass. Gets some low-end boost and drive from SonEQ and compressed but not all that much by TDR.

235LoRise Gu - Kind of Enoish bassy pad. Modulation plays around with the delay mix a bit

235HS Planet Six - Lead synth. Modified from Howard Scarr's preset to be more of a lead. This is doubled with 235Yearning lead to provide a more solid attack, modified from a Hans Hafner patch.

235Woody Gu - A further mod of PlanetSix to provide a spot of counterpoint.

235stephan 1 - Another Hans Hafner mod, made more brassy. Used for the intro and a couple of melodic fills.

235HS-Gu Slow Stratochord - A mod of Howard Scarr's preset. I think this is the only one to really make use of the arp.

235SloRise Gu - Mod of the low bass turned into a slow-attack pad-stab thing.

235Geiger1 Gu - First geiger counter click preset

235Geiger2 Gu - Second geiger counter preset that uses delay to create a sense of space and, when the delay mix gets turned up, does the buzz that links the intro to the main theme.

Upped my patches. See http://www.kvraudio.com/product/podolsk ... /downloads for downloading.
If any of them already exist, please tell me so I can edit the list (although it should not really be the case).

Cheers.

Great to see so many sharing presets as this has been somewhat missing from OSC.

But maybe you all might want to consider uploading here at KVR as well where people can find them more easy and downloads will always work. (zippyshare hangs for me Sonnydeluxe) http://www.kvraudio.com/product/podolsk ... /downloads

I wonder how many thousands of patch banks are there on the internet and nobody knows of them... Maybe sometime, in a sunny day, we should like, gather everything we can find and we are allowed to, and centralize it at KVR... just so everyone would know where *all* the patches are.
Well, of course it's not going to happen because there are too many of them; I'm just dreaming out loud here - so many patches are not even a real necessity after all.

There was one who tried that with Synth1 and got in trouble as you would need every designer's permission first, so the job is too big.

Patch Arena tried to do some centralizing but still think KVR would be the best place, despite requiring the logon.

V'ger wrote:Hm yes I can see now how that definition might cause confusion, but imo the alternative you suggest Bjporter has seeds of confusion too as "generated" might be similarly alien to a newcomer and maybe also non-native English speaker.

Maybe just change out the "only one" with "only the chosen"? (although now I'm thinking chosen might also lead people to think there's a choice somewhere? )

Unless specifically announced before the competition, you must only use the chosen synthesizer for all sounds including percussion.
Thank you for updating that rule! I am content with the wording that is used now. 8)
