Greetings all.

Finally, after many months of work, TX16Wx 2.2.0 is now released, adding long-awaited support for MacOSX. This release took longer than anticipated, mainly because I upped my ambitions somewhat, thus this is not simply a port, but a full rewrite of the underlying framework supporting the plug-in. TX16Wx is now running on a new cross-platform and plug-in format toolkit, with much of its insides now in shared libraries. This of course in anticipation of the new plug-ins that CWITEC will build and release during the rest of the year.

The MacOSX plug-in is available as a 32/64 bit AUi universal binary and a 64-bit VSTi. The user interface requires a Cocoa capable host.

Version 2.2.0:
  • Added Apple OSX support
  • Added Audio unit version
  • Added style sheet based skinning
  • Added polyphony limit
  • Added matrix row/column distribute command
  • Fixed issue with effects being shared between copied performances
  • Fixed automation load/save issue
  • Improved matrix editor snapping
Enjoy, and happy sampling.

I get a very blurry GUI on load in Reaper.

Dragon, you are breaking my balls... ;-)
Seriously, the Windows UI drawing path has not really changed. If you get this very weird look I can only assume you have something in your direct draw path that applies a hardware shader to the D2D drawing (the UI painting is HW accelerated when available). Not sure how the h**l this happens though...

Sorry. But this is the first time that this has happened - none of the previous versions exhibited this behaviour.

Oh, I don't doubt you. But that still does not mean I have any obvious solution other than allowing for HW-accelerated drawing to be turned off.

Can you give me details on:
* Graphics card
* Driver version
* OS & bitwidth
* Service pack level. Especially, did you install IE10? Did you installe windows update KB2670838?

There are some similar discussions on the mozilla bug trackers that might be related...

Sorry, should've posted mode:

W7 Pro x64 SP1
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650 OC
Driver 320.18 (latest)

Windows Update turned off (although I did have some updates applied, but I don't see the update you mentioned in the list of those that are installed), and no stupid IE on my system. :D

Using Firefox 21 here, everything looks normal in it.

Post

Hm. That is discouraging. I would still suggest turing updates on (at least manual updates) and ensure that all fixes and updates are installed. MS has been releasing quite a few fixes for graphics stuff (though several of them where in fact to fix that previous updates broke :-P )

As I said, I can add a turn off HW-acc setting, but the UI might get somewhat less responsive... I have no idea what's really the culprit here.

There's something seriously wrong with the installer here. Running it causes the computer to shut itself down and then restart with the usual 'windows shut down abnormally...', etc. I've never experienced anything like that before. I'm on Vista 32bit which is updated regularly. Graphics card is ATI Radeon HD 5570 with the latest drivers. Previous versions of TX16Wx have worked without any problems.

Re-download is my only real advice. You might have a corrupted file. (The files on the website are fine, but you might have some network issues?) I cannot verify vista (because it is an unusable OS), but W7 and XP runs the installers fine.

Hi, something wrong even here on Win7 64 bit and Reaper 4.5RC9.
Reaper freeze while scanning TX16Wx.dll

If you have a hang, can you let me debug on your computer? Or at least use something like sysninternals process explorer to get stack traces for the threads of the reaper instance? (Right-click the process, properties, threads, stack trace)

Hello Elcallio,

i have problems to run TX16Wx on my Mac. I use the new iMac OSX 10.8.4 and Logic Pro 9.1.8.
When i load your Sampler then i get a Message: "Warning Could not load skin" and then Logic crash down.

Do you have a idea to fix this problem?

I installed TX16Wx again. The same Message. :(

Dragon:
I've updated the official builds to
1.) not use HW render by default and
2.) allow HWR turn on/off

This should fix drawing issues, though I'd really like to know exactly why it happens.

Supremeja:
I did manage to find one issue with the OSX build that could be the culprit that you are seeing (resource problem). Please re-download, re-install and try again.
