It's because you have to let those Facebook molecules come down the Internet tubes and sit in your computer, where they VIBRATE backwards and gum up your rams. If you use Facebook a lot, you can count on accumulating about seven or eight quarts of useless, sticky molecules in your rams over the course of a year.

KVR sends molecules down the Internet tubes too, but they're the good kind that spin counterclockwise so they weigh less and don't attach themselves to the hooks in your rams.

Because synths with molecules sound better, that's why.

 I'm a sheep because I want to stay in touch with friends and family, keep up with updates on my favorite bands and software developers, and receive an occasional free piece of software, sample set, or mp3 download? No, don't think so. It's funny when people complain over and over and over and over on this website about how evil Facebook is... It can be evil. Or it can be a useful tool. It's all up to the tool. I mean person.

I think the reasons why people don't use Facebook are pretty clear, just read around a bit, and you get it. No need to repeat frequently repeated stuff.

Btw, i had to smile a bit when i read "Maybe KVR users don't use FB because they're sheeps". Where would you expect more sheeps than on Facebook? :P

I have not been on Facebook for over a year and a half.

I was talking with a friend who dabbles in music about sample libraries and, viola, in the next week I started getting sticky ads for sample libraries from a D-list sample vendor. I did not LIKE anything, I just started getting these Facebook ads.

This is right around the time that Facezucker admitted that they were going to be scanning the texts of your Facebook messages to target advertising.

It's just one huge data-mining operation. You want to give up your privacy that much, be my guest.

Even KVR generates these ads that follow you to other web sites.

Im wondering how long it will be till FB turns into Myspace and is not cool anymore . :hihi:

Facebook, like any other medium, is what you make of it. And you can always use something like AdBlocker.

Anyway...

My terrible evil Facebook page of doom where you can hear about new synth soundset and sample library projects, some of my music and the occasional exclusive giveaway type thingummy.

Burn me! I'm a witch!

I've thought about that but I think FB has become too much a part of our society for that to happen...it may merge with another company and even change it's name but I think it will stay for years to come. The same with twitter though I actually have only made like 10 tweets my whole life and haven't been there in a couple of years...in fact it was just this spring that I figured out what the hash tag #show title was all about on every show I watched  But I did see on the news a judge was making a ruling on something and said she would tweet her ruling first. That's how the world is going for better or worse

now that's Just Good Marketing right there. :tu:

re the statement 'Facebook is just an advertising venue'. The whole internet is driven by advertiser dollars, incl KVR. I use AdblockPlus. in the past FB has found ways to subvert that subversion but it was easily remedied. I see next-to-no ads online.
