A little off topic, but I am wondering whether the really cool GUIs Plogue has been developing will somehow find their way into Bidule?

Not that there's anything wrong with Tetris, but wouldn't rock paper scissors be a more appropiate way to settle this kinds of matters?Sendy wrote:So now I have chipsounds and chipcrusher. That makes me the bestest chiptune producour in the whirled! Unless someone else has these exact same plugins. In which case I say we settle it with a game of Tetris.
Maybe even RPS-25

These are two very different code bases I'm afraid. Bidule is wxWidgets based while ARIA uses a heavily modified (near rewrite) of VSTGUIravasb wrote:A little off topic, but I am wondering whether the really cool GUIs Plogue has been developing will somehow find their way into Bidule?

Hi David !
I love the sound of the SP-12 input, do you think it could be possible to add some MPC convolution to the Chipcrusher too ?

The SP12 in chipcrusher is really just a Bit/SR preset. There is no convolution of the EQ part yet (though we have an actual SP12), nor modeling of the input anti aliasing filter (which does alias). These are two areas I would like to improve in the future.Endor-8o8 wrote:Hi David !

I could add some MPC presets for bit/sr but I could only convolve the EQ part if i had an actual MPC

Ok thanks for the correction David !
This preset just made me thought that it could be cool to add some rhythm box vibe to the Chipcrusher...

THIS is the kind of thing that would make me buy the chipcrusherdavidv@plogue wrote:The SP12 in chipcrusher is really just a Bit/SR preset. Making drums sound JUST like they come from a classic old sampler. I am assuming the EQ part would just be a convolution impulse of the output circuitry, and the "input anti aliasing filter" sounds interesting. Don't forget the background noise too!
Thinking about the background noise. Is there a way to make it even more authentic? I assume it just plays as a loop at the moment, would it interact with what is being played through the hardware in real life?

Damn you, you made me take out my SP12 schems!thermal wrote: Making drums sound JUST like they come from a classic old sampler. I am assuming the EQ part would just be a convolution impulse of the output circuitry, and the "input anti aliasing filter" sounds interesting.
Plus, I think it would need a separate product, tailored to playing back samples and changing their pitch according to what device X and Y can do.
chipcrusher takes as many samples as it spews out (its an effect), so it cant do this on its own.
Background noise circuit modelling would be interesting in an academic sort of way, but I doubt many would want to pay for such researchthermal wrote: Thinking about the background noise. I just got my license for Chipcrusher and I really must say: it's an amazing piece of software! I love it!
I'm really into bitcrushers, but this goes far beyond that. You could probably recreate some of it with a good mix of impulse responses and bitcrushers, but... well, this seems to play together much better, and makes the work of finding the right combo much easier.

Has the computer footprint of plogue software gone down at all with chipcrusher? The last time I tested chiptunes I had to install a lot of stuff with files all over the place, but there was talk of slimming stuff down.

What is the difference between a 32MB VST.dll and 32MB of data files?Liero wrote:Has the computer footprint of plogue software gone down at all with chipcrusher? In my opinion, much more flexibility for tweaks, skins, user sounds, etc.
