When I dropped the new 5.2 update onto the receptor it started but then said must be run on Windows 7 and stopped. But the update is essentially a new dll plus one new effect. I just dropped the new dlls into the NI vst folder and then added the new effect (feedback compressor) to the Program Files/Common Files/NI/Kontakt/effects folder. Everything else stays the same. The Kontakt update worked like a charm on my REC2 Pro Max.

Hope this helps someone else trying to do the update for Kontakt 5.

That's great to know! I can't imagine what the win7 dependency is, but it's you can go through the side door. I'll try this as well and see if I hit any library issues.

Good to know, thanks.
I'm still on XP so I can't even install it on my PC. In fact I bought NI Cuba which I think I could run on my receptor 2pro (Cuba needs SSE2 but it's just like Abbey Road 60 which run on receptor 2), but no way to get it to work with Kontakt 5.1, I would like to test it with kontakt 5.2, I need windows for a few hours to test...

Maybe. I've had issues trying to get "Kontakt 5" libraries like the latest Alicia's Keys to run on my Rec 2. The ol' "authorize in Kontakt3" trick simply doesn't work (I get an error message ... can't recall offhand). IF this ever works for you, let us know!

I'm running Kontakt player 5.2 now, and so far no issues with the libraries I've tried (NI pianos, Scarbee basses). I need to do a little more testing to see if I can get past a recurring issue where swapping out K5 on a given channel will cause the host to restart (that is: load it > replace with another VST > replace with K5). It's not a true show stopper, as I can always keep Kontakt loaded on the same channel, but it does interrupt the workflow.

Yes I'm having some minor problems too. Sometimes things slow down and the receptor gets unresponsive until it catches up to whatever it is trying to do or I have to do a reset to get things going again. It only seems to be a problem for a couple of Kontakt instruments and my sense is it is graphics related which the Receptor OS is not designed to keep up with anyways. Probably related to the same issues preventing K9 from installing on Rec2s. Since they can get K9 working on newer receptors with the newer OS I'm hoping when Muse releases the OS update for older Rec2 users, then that will cure whatever issues there are.
