so for the 500th page should I go to GC and pose with a Les Paul?
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Sure! You don't want to know what I'm going to do to a PRS on the 1,000th page.

I was thinking about a Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special to turn into a prepared guitar unless anyone has any better suggestions.

It's not really about what someone else thinks is better it's a matter of what you think. Do you really like it? Can you see hear yourself playing it?
Are you comfortable with the neck (most important part)

If you haven't already played 100 guitars (or even if you have) each guitar is different and each neck is different. It's important that you feel comfortable with both the sound and feel before you plop down cash.

I don't know what a prepared guitar means, but it's lovely.

Prepared guitar...think Sonic Youth.... Modifying the guitar with a bunch of crap and playing it in non conventional ways.

Here are some good examples

So, I finally was able to get my hands on a set of those "balanced" D'addarios. These are the 9-40....admittedly a strange gauge!

I agonized over putting them on the new strat, I knew some adjustments would be necessary, but it wasn't too bad. Yeah, they are "balanced" for certain but it is really hard to keep such light strings in tune. They feel great though, especially for my infant sized hands/fingers.

I dunno, I think 9-42's are about as perfect as you can get, I'll try a couple more sets and see how it goes.
