DIVA and Zebra in Live 9: strange behaviour with automation

This seems only to happen in Live 9 and not 8. If either DIVA or Zebra are used in a midi track in the arrange window and there is one or more automation lines, then shortly after the VSTi GUI is opened the re-enable automation button in Live lights up for no reason.
It's almost like something is altering something on the U-he plug but it only does it when the proper UI is open. It doesn't happen on other VSTi.
My system Win XP SP3 i5 750 running Live 9.0.4

I reported this problem to Ableton support over the weekend and they have just got back to me to say that they can replicate it on their systems too.
It seems that DIVA and Zebra both send out midi messages for all parameters set within the plugin when the UI opens. Live reads this as a automation change, although nothing has been actually changed.

Huh? MIDI messages? Any automation has to be preceeded by a mouse gesture message, and that we definately do not send
Guys from Ableton contacted us too, we'll check it out.

Thanks Urs.
Ableton support also told me that it happens with Live 8 too, but I couldn't get it to do it in Live 8 at the weekend and I'm pretty sure I would have noticed it before if it had. I may investigate further.
As an aside and probably nothing to do with this; the UI of both DIVA and Zebra has always taken a while to appear after pressing the button that invokes the UI.

Hi,
I've just run a few tests on Mac and Diva doesn't send any automation data. So maybe it's either changed in our sources, or it's different on Windows. No matter what, Clemens is currently rewriting the Windows VST code to match the Mac one, so I guess we're on top of this.
I've also had contact with Ableton and recommended to disregard automation messages without preceeding automation begin/end messages (like hosts arer supposed to work IIRC)

Thanks for the update.
I just tried it in Live 8 and it does do it there too. Strange how I've never noticed before.

I think it might have started with a workaround we did for VST3. So you might not have seen it before the recent update.
