Hi,
I am trying to automate parameters with Diva in Cubase.
Unfortunately the names like Res, Rev, PFreq, etc don't help much.

I am trying to automate the LFO2 controlling the filter to get wobble bass.
I need to set LFO2 depth in the cascade filter to control the depth of wobble and the LFO2 sync to change it from 1/8 to 1/4.

Has anyone got a table of the names and the parameters they link to?

Thanks,
Paul

OK, I have worked out how to do the LFO2 Filter wobble, but it would still be great to see the whole parameter table.

Answer:
Filter LFO2 Sync
DMS1 and DMD1 are Delay Modulation Source and Depth for the LFOs, so find the second lot of these and that area is where the other LFO2 paramaters are. Select Sync here.
Values are: 10 = 10 Secs,20 = 1/16,25 = 1/8,30 = 1/4,32 = 1/2,35 = 1/1

Filter Depth (LOF2)
Model, Freq and Res show where the Filter parameters are. Select FM2Dpt.
50 = center point, no Depth
100 = Max (Knob all the way to the right)
0 = Min (Negative Depth)

You can use these to do great Wobble bass with Diva. So Diva is fine for modulation control for modern sounds and, of course, sounds a lot better than other soft synths you might be using (he-he).

Have you tried to set track automation mode to 'write' and move the desired parameter on Diva's GUI ?
That should bring up the respective automation lane automatically. (at least that's how I did it with other VSTs when I used Cubase iirc).

edit:
Seems I remembered that slightly wrong. Automation lane doesn't show up automatically but is indicated with a '*' which should also help.

Great Thank you No_use.
That makes it much easier. I can't believe I was doing it the hard way.

I thought that didn't work for some reason. I must have been getting mixed up with Cakewalk.
I had moved to Cubase coz of the problems with automation in Cakewalk (oh, and lots of crashes too  )

Indeed the hard way, that's why I posted. ;)
You're welcome.

Yeah, I'm had the same issues with SONAR. Honestly, if you like U-He software, DON'T use SONAR. After using Cakewalk since the Pro Audio days (it's been almost 20 years), I am seriously thinking of going back to Cubase. SONAR X2 is very stable and a great DAW overall. My other vsts work with SONAR just fine, but U-He stuff is seriously crippled in multiple important ways, including this one...a critical feature. Automating effects is a waste of time, automating anything is difficult and editing midi data is primitive. I love U-He stuff...I use DIVA, Zebra, ZebraHZ, ACE, Uhbiks and MFM2 regularly now. I'm going back to Cubase because it covers the basics so well, and is more powerful where power really matters (not bells and whistles).

I'm willing to learn an entirely new DAW for the sake of having my U-He stuff just work like normal vsts. Unfortunately, I can't afford Cubase 7...need to find a deal somewhere...

Wow, you can get Cubase 6 bundled with Halion 4 for $370 on ebay, including a "grace period" that automatically upgrades your license to Cubase 7!
