Maybe Hans Zimmer used a modified version of Zebra to compose music for Man of Steel too?

I was wondering the same and noticed Howard's credit on the album (along with Hans Zimmer), for synth programming.

No plans for a Steel soundset yet, but the synth was ZebraHZ, certainly :)

I saw the movie on Friday and I am pretty sure I heard Zebra doing drums, arps, and one scene on a spaceship I know I heard the new resonator module. In fact, listening to the music in a hunt-the-zebra mentality was more enjoyable than the actual movie. :)

You definitely are a Kvrian. :hihi:

This module is what intrigues me the most about ZebraHZ
Is there any sound exemple? Just to know if it's worth taking the plunge

I know, it's a sickness and I'm unable to turn it off now! Image

There isn't really a good video demo of it, the Dark Zebra video only mentions it in passing if I recall.

It's my understanding it is modeled after the polymoog resonator and there are videos of that in action:

I can't say if it is 1:1 identical but I can say parts of that video sound quite similar to HZ when moving the resonator sliders.

And don't forget, HZ owners get Z3 for for free -- so even if you don't love it (you will) you still get the forthcoming flagship synth as an added bonus. :D

Thanks!

I had a Moog Opus III from 1982-1984 (sold it, got a much better synth: Roland Juno 106): some of the sliders look identical to that Moog resonator.

I saw the movie yesterday - what a great demolition-fest, loved it  I suppose the screenplay for the last hour was simply one line: "EXPLOSIONS! CRUMBLING WALLS! AAAARGH!"

Minor spoiler ahead:

The hoover-like sound that the terra-forming tripod does when it messes with the gravity was pretty cool. Was that ZebraHZ, too?

Possibly, but I have no idea - "music departments" generally aren't responsible for plot-specific sound effects.

Honestly I only heard a handful of synth sounds in Man of Steel, mostly ambiences. Dunno if there would be enough for a bank. Maybe a small freebee for TDZ owners?

How about making Zebra after every film where Hans Zimmer was involved :hihi:

TDZ is full of sounds that don't sound "synthy". When I was watching MoS there were quite a few sounds I suspected to be Zebra. The comb filter alone in Howard's hands can do amazing things...
