How to install Absynth patches on Receptor

I downloaded some Absynth and Guitar Rig patches from the Native Instruments user library.

I dropped them into the 'drop installers here' folder but they would not install. Muse support said I could only install '.bank' and '.fxp' files in that folder. The Absynth files were '.glo' and the Guitar Rig files were '.bnk'.

How can I install these?

Thanks,

Greg

Hi Greg,

The Receptor host doesn't recognize the Native Instrument preset files for Absynth or Guitar Rig. That doesn't mean you can't load them -- it just means that you can't load them directly into Receptor 'Instrument'/'Single' patches.

What you can do is put them somewhere on the Receptor HD (the 'My Documents' folder is a good place), and then load these files directly from either Absynth or Guitar Rig. Once specific presets from these files are loaded, you can then save these out as Receptor patches.

Hope this helps, Regards,

Kevin,

Thanks for the response and simple explanation. It even makes sense to me! :) I wonder why Muse support couldn't give me this simple answer?

Anyway, I'll be trying this out this weekend. There's quite a few patches I want to load from the user library at Native Instruments user forum.

I'm new to the Receptor and I keep learning all these little secret things you have to do to make it work. I'm impressed with what it is capable of doing, but it is otherwise pretty tricky to work with. I guess I'll eventually get there.

Thanks again for your help.
