Thank you Ben!
He is just brilliant to show us how we should listen just the best and
most tasteful sounds from a great instrument!
Thanks for Kent for the wonderful showcase!

I'd hate to be the negative nancy but with that many effects you could probably substitute any polysynth and get a similar sound.
Good live space music/synth demo, yes.
Raw CS-80? Not so much.

Don't tell anyone, but Vangelis used revers, eqs and compressors too.3*s wrote:Raw CS-80? Not so much.

I only know Kent through Facebook / Skype / Sonic Talk, but yes - he seems like a great guy
BTW u-he has access to a CS80 (permanent loan). In fact it's in my music room, but I'm not going to turn it on this summer - too hot here!

Vangelis has canonical CS80 sound. Many people assume his sound as how CS80 should sound.hakey wrote: Non-sequitur.
Does it mean it might be turned on during the autumn'13-spring'14, so it become new source for oscs and filter in diva?Howard wrote: In fact it's in my music room, but I'm not going to turn it on this summer - too hot here!

Maybe. But it has no bearing on 3*s' comment. Hence the 'non sequitur'.david.beholder wrote:Vangelis has canonical CS80 sound. Many people assume his sound as how CS80 should sound.

Yea my only point was tons of effects blur the character of a particular instrument. Not saying it's a bad thing, especially in genres where effects define the genre itself (space music and film music don't really make much sense without reverb at least). It's just doesn't really show the character of the synth. I could throw CS-80V in there any no one would ever know.
