I wouldn't be that drastic, but why not give the user the option to install or not the Pace stuff? Most of the times, we already have that, and it's just a waste of time. I hate when installers go on installing stuff we don't need or asked for.
The way I see it, you should ask before installing: Do you want to also install PACE support files? Yes/No.

I got a UVI Pack Today. Is it safe to use iLok now? I've been holding off on any iLok protected purchases but this one was too good to pass up. Thanks...
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Well, the thing is that it's required in order to run UVIWorkstation.
If you already have the same or a newer version, I think the PACE installer don't reinstall anything.
So I don't see a case where it would make sense.

I bought the piano bundle, and installed the latest Pace software in Windows 7 x64 without problems. My licenses are all there, and nothing disappeared. I was a little frightened, though.

AFAIK, there are no ongoing issue.

I agree there has been some rough weeks.
We have waited for things to calm down on purpose and let PACE time to settle things.

Thanks fmr. :phew: I have so many Licenses on my iLok that it would be a major catastrophe if it got messed up.

Thank you otristan. I needed some reassurance. :)

Troll? OK, I guess anyone who has an opinion contrary to yours is now a troll. If you can identify my "trolling" activity on this, please be my guest. It doesn't exist. You sir, are just plain rude.

Well, it's of public knowledge that the iLok debate is subject to flamewars

Sorry, if you felt offended by my answer though

This was not a flame war, though. :)

I haven't been following this Thread really, so forgive me for not reading the last 90 odd pages before posting. :)

What does this mean?

There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive\Device\Harddisk1\DR1.

It shows up every time I double click on UVIWorkstation.exe

I'm on Windows 7.
Using 32bit version as I only have 4GB RAM.

When I 'cancel' the error, the UVI Engine seems to load and operate properly.

The VSTi works without any errors.

NOTE: I looked back a Page and I'm obviously not the first person with this problem. Will see what I can do to resolve locally.

Do you have some removable drive that show up in Windows but are not connected ?

I Have a fully licensed copy of PowerISO. I was wondering if I had something mounted but I don't see anything there.

Looking at Disk Management I can see a 'Virtual CD (Z: )'. I have no idea what the hell that is.

I tried installing the x64 Version of UVI but it fails:

The wizard was interrupted before PACE License Support Win64 could be completely installed. The system has not been modified etc.

After unplugging a few things, it seems that my external USB laptop fan is showing as 'Virtual CD (Z: )'. Mental or what?
