well gave in and just grabbed the upgrade, I knew i was going to do it eventually anyway so figured why not. Now Ill have to wait till after work to give it a good run through
Just quickly testing it through an rdp session, cpu usage I believe is about the same as the old one, see it idling at ~2% and up to 5 with some more involved patches. Good to see the distortion modes from cyclop in there, love the digitize one. Going to have to read the manual though as it is more involved than it used to be

Get over the endorsement thing. It's standard marketing technique. They are, after all, a business at the end of the day. They won't be able to stay in business and do what they are passionate about without sales, and a good way to garner sales are endorsements.
Just be happy to see their products endorsed by the likes of such forward thinking artists as Sigur Ros, Modeselektor, Mouse on Mars, and so on.

While trying the demo I noticed that many preset names do not fit in preset area.
Maybe they could make the UI wider?
Edit: it seems the demo is still WOW1. WOW2 has a totally different kind of UI

one thing I do wish they would have added over wow1 is a sidechain input option, still limited to the in/out of the plugin itself.
Theres also a typeO in the manual where it describes the in/out selection on the envelope, the text is the same for both options

I've been thinking about getting Wow v.1 for ages so this is very tempting. Really want to get that sound in Royksopp Vision One (corkscrew bass sound achieved on Stevie Wonder sample)
Is this the FX plug in i need?
p.s. i use cubase 7

Thanks for your feedback! Or resonance whatever!
We will think about all of your points.
Name dropping? hmmm depends on the names
best

Yes, picked it up as well and love the updates. Except I too would have loved to see sidechain input for the envelope follower as an option.
But one possible bug. Anyone else have issues with the sync of the lfo, step sequencer, wobble modulator? It starts synced with my host but slowly becomes unsynced. I didn't have this issue with Wow 1.

We are right now investigating the sync problems.
WOW converts your song position into clock and LFO curves.
That ensures your LFO will always sit in the same place.
We have to double up the song position accuracy, no problem.
thanks
Rico
Edit: We had to decide between Sidechain or Midi Remote.
We went for midi. We are still thinking about a sidechain version,
as we also badly miss the possibility to modulate a WOW(guitar)with drums.

a bug i noticed in studio one v 2.5:
inserting wow2 automatically raises the volume of the played patch (even with init patch). inserting wow1 does not affect the original sound. wow1 behaviour is much better.

new bug: gui opens really slow (first plugin to do this on my setup) and in two steps. first a small quarter, than the rest.

mmm nah, I will stick to my original opinion.
The plugins are great and don't need cheesy name drops at all.
Pigments Presets, Omnisphere Expansions, Dune, Serum, and Thorn Sound Packs. Diva, Zebra, TAL, and Repro Sound Banks.

Well this has disappeared after a reboot. Not that anyone seemed to care..cyphersuit wrote:new bug: gui opens really slow (first plugin to do this on my setup) and in two steps. first a small quarter, than the rest.
