I have to say a big boo to NI too for not offering the discount on the update this year.

for existing owners it seems to be usd 99 since some time. it was greayed out, becuase the 50%do not apply to updates. but they have changed it, as people got confused i guess.
Finally!

I saw PSP had a sale on mixpack. It was one of the first vst's i bought and i hadn't tried them for a long while, mainly due to my sequencer at the time didn't support PDC. Since i don't have v2 (1.85 is how far my license goes), do you know if the latency is gone in v2 or if it's still pretty high? I mix with 1024 samples at 88kHz and three of the plugs caused 2000+ samples latency. Ouch! They do sound fantastic though!! I should have reinstalled them sooner than today
MixTreble can take a track with highest frequency at 22Hz and get a readout up to 45kHz!! I bet all the cool bats have that plugin

It used to be that when you bought a computer screen you usually got the foot included in the deal.
The new thing with ipad and other pads, is that now you need to pay for that foot.
Check the new iKlip, just €60: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/iklipstand/

So, how's PSP's MixPack2 (I haven't had the time for a demo session)? I like the PSP stuff a lot in general, but OTOH my plugin folder is already quite full.

If PSP makes it then I gotta have it. They've also put something to discover in everything and they are very meticulous about the behavior and non-linear aspects of each plug's way of manipulating an incoming signal. There's a warmth in the output that I genuinely gravitate to, esp when some of them are pushed (if you think a hw unit might exhibit a certain subtle or not chaotic response)...but not limited to such obvious character. You can subtle achieve a balance and create a special slot for parts by throwing on one of the mixing tools. I'm a fan of MixTreble, it's a toolbox within a toolbox. But really don't take anyone's word about soft like this because you really must jive with mix utilities and the only way to achieve such a fondness is to hear it work on your own material. PSP offer fairly decent manuals w every piece of soft so if you are dead serious and curious then I advise to set time aside to test the sw WHILE taking in the manual. Just now, I'm falling deeply for the amazing PSP Echo. The possibilities with the warmth of the tapey quality of the wet output and it's cleverly tucked away "ducker" module are as endless as it's +2 feedback. Anyway, big fan of PSP products for many years.

I've been quite impressed with everything they do. I would be more inclined to buy more of their stuff if the GUI's weren't so small. N2O for example is really something, but you have to program it like some old rack unit. Why make us go through that?

Yes, I recall demoing this... There -are- plugs I do not own, but most of the semi-modeled ware I do own. Anyway, I recall the editing matrix for that one being a bit cramped, like you describe. Actually the 608MD is extremely powerful but it's got a very tiny LCD-ish modulation window that is difficult to mess around with for too long (when tweaking and designing). Despite this I still love it. Yes, I notice PSP have a thing for some of the interfaces one might see on semi-vintage gear of the past.. I think they love the old Akai samplers or even the old Lexicon units and other multi-fx racks of yesteryearAiynzahev wrote: N2O for example is really something, but you have to program it like some old rack unit. Maybe so Obi Wan, but it doesn't, in my estimation, make much sense for them to divide up this sale, since it's a sale on Kontakt and there are plenty of people who own it who would want to upgrade now. They didn't divide the summer sale last year.paterpeter wrote:In my calendar the year goes until December. Plenty of time left for other sales.A.M. That said though, you have a point about Black Friday and Xmas.
