All sounds were created using 25 instances of XILS 3 Beat Edition by Xils Lab.

"Jumppp!" was programmed and arranged using Ableton Live. Podium Free was used during the first look at the synth: thanks Zynewave!

DAW effects:
Eq8, Compressor, Auto Filter, Saturator, Autopan (just a few seconds), Dynamic Tube, Simple Delay.

Additional effects:
gHi, SX Mono, Kjaerhus Classic Delay, Mda Stereo, Bitter Sweet II, You Wah Shock, Ferox, Tal Tube and Reverb, Limiter6, PTeq1a, Kjaerhus Master Limiter.

TT Dynamic Range value: 5

Some quick chatter:

I tried to loosely simulate some of the sounds that I loved starting from when I began making music (in the 80s, e.g. some chip sounds) up to year 2004 (I'm referring to one of the basses that you can hear in one of the last sections).

Most of all, here I've tried to put the funk and syncopation that I was feeling inside.

I had a lot of fun making the patches (almost all from scratch) and of course the whole track.

I hope that you will enjoy your listening and to hear your feedback!

This music is dedicated to the authors of the freeware listed above as a sign of gratitude

Here is my track!

My intention was to make a track that reflects the nature of XILS 3.
So ONLY I used the EQ, delay and reverb of Xils 3, no compression and no limiting in the master.
Also I show moderately some interesting glitches with the synth.

I like a lot the modular and semi-modular synths, so I feel in my confort zone using it

16 instances of XILS 3 BE.

Logic's own compression, delay and reverb used sparingly, and one instance of Voxengo OldSchoolVerb.
Logic's of EQ and direction mixer.

1 x Pan Automation
2 x Cutoff Automation
1 x Volume Automation

Adaptive limiter and Spread for mastering.

My goal in writing this track, was to finish it. And for me not to hate it. It started out quite "Boards of Canada" but quickly ventured into different territory.

Most patches from scratch, a few modified, great fun, although a bit of a headache to begin with. It's an odd beast, but wonders to be found within!

I made this track in Ableton Live.

I used 14 instances on the XILS 3 BE synth.

Free effects used: T-Force trance gate, Bizzare delay.

DAW effects: Ableton Mastering

Drums
1 Bass drum- I was happy with the sound I had
1 Bass drum- same one just lowered down
1 Bass drum- Same as second bass drum but with the delay from the synth added
1 HiHat- closed
1 HiHat- open
1 Snare- nice hard whack
1 Snare- Scratch sound

Bass
1 Bass- The kind of long drawn out bass sound
1 Bass- The wobble bass sound
1 Bass- The same sound as second bass with added T-Force trance gate for effect

Insruments
1 Airy plucked sound
1 saw type sound
1 pad effect and added Bizzare delay at the end to give tailing effect
1 pad similar to previous with same Bizzare delay
