it seems, that it's not possible to record from "Kirnu Cream" (Mastertrack as midi input) to with "Send to ..." connected tracks.
is there anything wrong with my configuration or is it not possible?
created 2 tracks:
Track and Rack 1 "Kirnu Cream":
Slot 1: Channel Filter 1
Slot 2: Kirnu Cream - Rhytm output to MIDI channel 13
Slot 3: Send to Rhytm
Track and Rack 2 "Rhytm":
Slot 1: Channel Filter 13
Slot 2: Digital Accoustic Guitar
playback:
- playback for all with "Send to..." connected tracks works as expected.
recording:
- after pressing record button - playback for all with "Send to..." connected tracks works as expected but nothing was recorded
Mixdown Audio works with this configuration!
my configuration:
MuLab 5.1.5 64 bit
Kirnu Cream v1.0.6 64 bit - PRESET: Chord Rhytm 01 1-8k
midiChannelFilter.dll 64 bit (bizmidi)
midiKeySplit4.dll 64 bit (bizmidi)
Windows 8 64 bit
CPU Core 2 Duo 8400
RAM 4 GB
CreamSendTo.MuSession sended as email attachement to mutools

Only event recording from MIDI input is supported. There is a Event Recorder module on the wishlist so to be able to record the output of any module, just like with audio. See belowHermu wrote:i want to record Eventsmutools wrote:What do you want to record: Audio or Events (aka MIDI)?
Insert an "Audio File Recorder" module at the relevant point in the modular setup and connect inputs and outputs. More info on the Audio File Recorder on http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mux/mu ... dules.htmlbut Audio recording is also not possible

could not find "Audio File Recorder" because the folder "Other" contains only Event Monitor, Mux, Patch Point, Send and Rackmutools wrote:Or you could insert a MUX in the rack after the synth and then insert an audio recorder in that MUX.mutools wrote:Insert an "Audio File Recorder" module at the relevant point in the modular setup and connect inputs and outputs. i think documentation must be updated...
But, ... with a left click to the next empty slot below the synth you can select Sends->Audio File Recorder
Or, the same result you get with right click to Record Audio and change "Record from" entry
after recording, a new track was generated and shows the recorded audio file.
recorded audio file was stored in the corresponding MuSession directory.
multitrack recording generates also only one audio file.

Yes i was wrong with the suggestion to put an audio recorder in the MUX as audio recorders currently only work on session level. Sorry about my mistake. But the principle stays the same: Use audio recorders to record audio. In the session mux, connect anything you want to record to the audio recorder(s). Or you can also edit this via Audio Record Setup = right-click on the audio record button. (or your shortcut)

i have retested and found out, that multitrack recording produces for each track also a new audio track, after in the "Record Audio" configuration all relevant tracks were added.Hermu wrote:with right click to Record Audio and change "Record from" entry

can you imagine in a feature MuLab relase, that MIDI or Audio recording, is realised with two record buttons on each track?mutools wrote:Only event recording from MIDI input is supported. Indeed, a new audio part for each audio recorder you've setup (and armed).Hermu wrote:i have retested and found out, that multitrack recording produces for each track also a new audio track, after in the "Record Audio" configuration all relevant tracks were added.
If you want less new audio tracks, use less audio recorders and route more sources to its input.
I know what you mean i.e. the more 'traditional' way of setting up recording. But what is the input source of a track? So you'll also need to be able to define an input source for each track. And an arm button etc. In fact you will end up with the same type of setup as the audio recorder setup now. So what's the big workflow difference? I think the only answer is: Tradition. I'm not saying that's not a good argument. There are notes about this on the wishlist as i know you're not the only user requesting a more traditional way of recording in MuLab.can you imagine in a feature MuLab relase, that MIDI or Audio recording, is realised with two record buttons on each track?

Yes, i can understand your doubts relating to the workflow and the audio recorder setup is clear and easy to handle. If event recorder will be realised like audio recorder it's a good possibility, but the output for Events would be in the most cases the same track. A audio output track could be also a subtrack of the intrument track and the input source is the instrument track itself.mutools wrote: I know what you mean i.e. the more 'traditional' way of setting up recording. On the other side offers an additional recorder setup more flexiblity ...
