Nope. "Dubstrap" is the future!

I didn't know we had to pay attention to what is yesterday and what is today. I always thought we just had to make music that we like to make....

I'm in Oklahoma, so it's new to me.

I was going to jump into this thread and post "Atlantis!!!" before a pile of other people did.
HOWEVER, on a related note, though this suggestion is kind of only relevant to MacOSX users, ...
well, I'll just type it the way I was going to type Atlantis:

automat!!!
http://www.alphakanal.de/automat.html

partially because it (like Atlantis) has a feature (or has featureS) that I don't see often in freeware and that relate strongly (imo) to creating those dubstep-like sonic gestures/movements we all love, hate, or feel otherwise about ( ;) ):
customizable modulation envelopes that aren't locked into the sine, saw, triangle or square shapes of the more commonly found (in freeware synths) LFO. NOT that you can't do some serious damage (i.e. create dubstep-like mayhem) with the sine, saw, triangle, and square waveform shapes of "the more commonly found LFO", ESPECIALLY if you can get one LFO modulating another, but well, if you're into this kinda sh!t, being able to draw (or sort of draw) your envelopes can, ... simply be a different kind of fun.

blah, blah, blah

CRAP! I wasn't thinking, automat ISN'T EVEN A VST (it's an AudioUnit). Ah well, I'll leave my above post incase it's useful. Please excuse my mushy brain (too much loud-ass dubstep growling can turn a brain to porridge - beware!).

I chime in and recommend 3 pretty unkown beasts:

eplor3r

Kairatune

MassTURBOtar

Price: free
Usage: turn knobs until speakers explode

Enjoy!

Nope, it's this one.

I haven't found a free FM vst that will do this.

This was posted by TurnDown4What in this thread,

which is actually about dubstep and freeware.

Is there someone on Dogs on Acid to monitor if anybody has ever released free DubStep patches for Zeta or something like that?

The b-complex DnB stuff was the most brutal I've ever heard, so there has to be something for Dub/Clown/Bro-Step as well. But I'm no member there.

Else, I'm all for V-Station and Discovery (non pro!).

V-Station = $225.00
Discovery = $100.00

I'm just posting this in case someone thinks these are free or low cost. Well, there was that HighLife/Discovery fiasco a few years ago :hihi:

BTW, I drop the bass pitch with the portamento.
