KVR - 50 Shades of Blue

It's not just the colours, it's also the sheer amount of little things fighting each other for attention and that the whole header and sidebar is full of miss-alligned things that all use different visual ideas and sizes:
2D icons, 3D icons, gradients, plain colours, borders, no borders, shadows, no shadows, plain text menus, buttonized menus, menus with and without icons, round fields, rectangular fields...

The longer I look at it, the more messy it feels.

I like it. Blue is calming. I need more of that elsewhere in my life.

More importantly, I like KVR shaking it up (for better or worse) every once in a while, if only to show that it's not standing still.

Finally, I don't know if it's a new feature or if I just noticed it, but I watched the Soniccouture feature vid, which, in turn, led me to dozens more. I didn't know they were there, organized, for viewing. Now I have to clear out a few evenings to go through them.

I usually try to be a positive person, but I have to say, what I am looking at right is incredibly nasty. I hope this is just a "transitioning" phase, and not the final look.

I don't really understand why websites feel the need constantly make their sites more "web 2.0," cluttered with icons and gradient graphics everywhere.

Welb...here on my seriously done in laptop it works really well!!

A lot quicker in fact with my Chrome browser...and the Blue is a lot better shade than some I've seen....

I appreciate the blue.. I'd just rather prefer a more coherent shade than the one in the headers.. coherent in the sense of blending with the rest of the theme.

I think that advertisers should be forbidden from using flash frames in their forum ads. I also think that looping animations should be allowed only one or two loops before stopping. That would be the greatest improvement to the look. We're all interested in cool plug-ins here. It's not like you have to give me a !@#$%! headache to grab my attention.

(a) where is the "Latest Posts" choice now?

Latest Posts is now a tiny icon that normally represents chat to the left of the org chart icon.

A huge part of my tablet screen is now filled with miscellaneous crap that I don't care about.

The color scheme is unbelievably, butt-ugly awful.

Use a script blocker and a Flash blocker, man. I haven't seen an ad on KVR in years (aside from the horrific ones they make into background wallpapers).
