@murnau - That is an Authorization Manager fix, completely separate to T-RackS itself as you are likely fully aware. The AAX update was also part of this, again T-RackS not Authorization Manager update. I know that there is at least one user that messages me on our forum about this, but other than that user and you, it doesn't seem to come up often so I'm sure Support has relayed this issue for you to the devs and for any other users that reported it.

And on topic, has anybody actually tried it? Sounds REALLY good, I feel this is one of the best we've ever done.

yeah i understand now. since nearly one year the auth manager isn't fixed with this issue (again i must say: great idea in general to drop single plugins and only make it possible with restore gear on online pc).. ..now it turns out that this isn't so important for IK okay okay, i guess because you can't make more money of it.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:@murnau - That is an Authorization Manager fix, completely separate to T-RackS itself as you are likely fully aware. That's not at all what I was saying. Interpret however you wish, but the two are completely unrelated resource-wise. The resources used for this have nothing to do with the resources that would deal with your issue. Support is aware, you've stated your case and your interpretation and speculation about how decisions are made based on your issue and I understand that is borne from your frustration and I have offered the information I have and done what I can do for you.
That said, I've also made sure I've brought this up again to put it on the radar best I can. I understand you do not want to use the plugins inside the TR shell nor do you want to or possibly even have the ability to go online for a short period to run the "Restore My Gear". I've relayed that information from my (and your) perspective again.

you repeat yourself, all you said in your last reply you said a few month ago and i bet in a few month you will say it again and next year too. how about changing the name from IK Multimedia to CS Multimedia? Be fair to your customers and tell them that you are only interested in them if they are online and buy the "gear" 24/7. that would be a great move, not like in my case where you telling me every few month that an update will be shortly available but this never happend. so funny, i even wrote here that i believe in your words. sometimes i'm really naive.

There is still hope. And you know why I initially asked for this. Especially if you consider "more" microphone releases.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Thank you for the reminder and renewed interest.
See, and there is a certain problem with this, Peter.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Frankly I (and I'm not alone in this) think that we're actually completely underpriced on these models so I wouldn't expect further reductions but as always you know we'll have some killer promos.
For what goes into these, we're nearly giving them away. These are top of class models, for next to nothing.
On one hand, you lower the prices and still do crazy sales like every other week (for... whatever). So you even undersell your undersell, so to speak.
There are actually two solutions:
a) leave the prices "high" per module (120 Credits = 80 EUR plus VAT), even though the prices are not really balanced out through the hole set. But... with this price, you can do regular sales like every 3 month or so, to get people hooked.
b) lower the prices permanenty, to like 30-40 EUR (i.e. 40 Credits = 32 EUR plus VAT), and do way less sales. You have a bigger winning margin, but still enough people interested in your tools since they're now affordable.
You see... people like me want to get the "full bundle" eventually. At least in terms of T-Racks. But... there were never upgrades (there is Grand now, but still no path to "let's get everything as soon as it comes out") up until this point, and you now release like 3-6 modules for T-Racks a year, and about 20-30 for Amplitube.
I understand the "custom shop" thing. That's totally fine. But I remember T-Racks being a studio tool, originally aimed at mastering. To me it's not aimed at Mastering anymore - it's just studio devices. And I got slapped in the face with Grand and the SSL modules.
Now that you however also try to tackle Neve (at least with the compressor, who knows if you get a channel strip going like the 88RS), maybe even some other rare stuff in both EQ and compressor land... I want to join the game.
But I do not have 30-50k as income/year. So I have to cut corners.
I understand that IKM needs to push out new toys, to keep their userbase happy. But you literally flood us.
If I try it, I use up 2 days of demo time. Then I can't use it anymore and need to buy it in order to test again.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:And on topic, has anybody actually tried it? Sounds REALLY good, I feel this is one of the best we've ever done.
Can't do that - so I hesitate until I might actually have the funds. I mean, I still need the funds for ARC2(!). And who knows, if I have them scratched together, ARC3 might be on front doors. I just know my luck.

I understand your points, CompyFox, though most people tell us we don't put out enough. And each piece is a lot of work, and we do take pride in that attention to detail and the maniacal thoroughness of it all because of the end result. We offer a fair price for what it is, I was giving MY opinion that it is cheaper than what goes into it and I will stand by that. We have to stay with the market, and we've actually done fewer sales recently than I expected we would. We'll keep doing promotions and offering well-priced plugins, but I think they're worth at least double. Again, that's my opinion - and I was a full-price paying customer for a long while so I would be today too if I didn't work here.

@murnau - I apologize if I gave you a timeframe as I do not decide that, ever. If anything I was reiterating information I was given, as again I do not set timeframes like that. I do relay your concern and support has your ticket too I'm sure. I do what I can, I understand you are frustrated with IK and that you aren't personally taking it out on me but I do have to clarify what I can and cannot do for you and if I said something about when you would see a fix that was reiterated information and not something for which I have influence/decision-making power.
You don't need to be online 24/7 and you can use the plugins in the shell. If you'd like to use the plugins individually right now, the only workaround for that would be to go online for a short period to do the "Restore My Gear" function and they would continue to work individually after you disconnected, as is what I'm told. I understand that may not even be physically possible, but I wanted to lay out what is potentially available to you.

I agree, it sounds good. I compared it to UAD's version and, in between the frequent noise bursts from the IK demo*, they sounded a lot alike. No clear winner. IK's GUI has the edge, being larger and clearer.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:And on topic, has anybody actually tried it? Sounds REALLY good, I feel this is one of the best we've ever done.
BTW, KVRians should be forewarned that this plugin, like any singles purchased thru IK's Custom Shop, cannot be resold. Quoting from IK's website:
Items purchased a-la-carte inside of the Custom Shop are not transferable to another user or other account.
Just thought folks here might want to know.
Cheers,
Eddie
*Yes, I hit the "Try" button; yes, it shows up in My Gear as being on trial; yes, I had the CS open during the demo; and yes, I opened a ticket earlier today. No response yet.
The future exists in all directions.

Can you guys please make a demo movie with EDM for a change? From all the producers i know, who buy your plugins, noone makes rock music. We can't even sell it to record companies anymore. No publisher i know is waiting for the next ACDC, they'd rather we produce the next Pitbull.
So please, i'm not asking you to stop using rock music, but just to acknowledge that a huge part of your sales go to EDM producers. Help us out, make a demo with some house music / EDM. I'll hear instantly if it's usable for me or not. Save me time to install a demo too.
