It's kind of difficult to create Sync between separate stereo/unison oscillators. We would have to store the output of each oscillator separately as opposed to mixing them straight into one signal. This costs significantly more CPU.
Hence I figured that the current "self sync" saves a lot of resources. I also think that it's more flexible - you can have multiple syncing oscillators, there's no "waste" for masters.

And if it's a traditional "phat"
sync you desire, DIVA delivers one of the best. ACE also has a silky-smooth traditional sync.

There are pros and cons for self-sync and regular sync... As a sync connoisseur it's good to have as many different synths with different sync implimentations as possible
