Looking for an Unusual USB-MIDI Interface

Hi, my name is Bill Wilkinson, and I need a compact USB/MIDI interface, but I absloutely NEED one feature set that I haven't found on any product yet; I am trying to use two USB "dongle" wireless MIDI receivers to feed MIDI data into a 'Muse Research Receptor 2 Pro '... but the Receptor has a limit of one "USB" MIDI device, and one " MIDI In" MIDI device; the two dongles involved are for the Fishman Triple Play, and also a wireless "Bluetooth-to-MIDI-data-stream" receiver from InfusionSystems, (www.infusionSytems.com) which handles alternative type controller sensors from my guitar...
Sooo, what I need is a USB-MIDI compact interface that doesn't need USB bus power, (instead needs to provide it to a "TypeA" USB port, and that can receive MIDI type data from it's USB , again, Type "A" ( which is the wider, rectangular port normally found on your computer's back panel), and send that data to it's MIDI Out port. There are USB "gender-benders"-- actually more accurately referred to as "B type-to-"A"-type USB adaptors, however, I'm not sure of whether or not they would work for this.
Adding to the difficulties is that my InfusionSystems Bluetooth receiver dongle would need to be powered from this USB connection, However, I can envision a custom "hacker-wired" modification solution for that, so, that may not be an issue...
The "iconnectivity" product "iconnectMIDI2+" looks to be the closest boxes I've found so far, but I'm not sure it'll actually do all that I need it to do for this application.
Anybody have any ideas, know of an interface with this functionality, or perhaps a company that builds custom interfaces of this nature? Thanks. in advance, for any help with this,
Bill Wilkinson

The iConnect products are probably the closest thing to what you want... although the newer Receptors have software support for multiple USB devices at once... perhaps the V2.0.1 software upgrade will help you out... maybe we should talk on the phone...

Hi Bryan, yes I would welcome a chance to speak with you re: this matter, and, actually I've spent four excruciating days trying to get TriplePlay software (which runs as a VSTi or VST or standalone to launch on my Receptor...Started out with high hopes that I could get the bundled software (NI's Komplete Elements, and IK Multimedia's SampleTank 2.2 and Amplitube as well as the TriplePlay sftware interface to run on my "Receptor 2 Pro w/Komplete Inside"with no luck. The plugIn List sees TriplePlay, but when I try to launch it, I get a splash screen that tells me it can't find the factory patches, and I should reInstall the software...which I have done several times trying one or another variation as ideas come to me, but I haven't been able to get ANY of the software suite to work on Receptor. The only good news is that the receiver works in Basic MIDI controller mode when I just plug it in to Receptor, but that means no splits, or any other functionality, just poly mode single channel MIDI transmission.Triple Play appears to track wonderfully, even without adjusting Global sensitvity at all, but as I said, the software has me ready to jump off the tallest building I can find. Did I mention that I'm suipposed to use it at a gig on thed 22nd of August...? Just shoot me...;=)Thanks for rsponding, you may have saved my so-called life..<smile> 720-940-3122 or 303-868-2365 both numbers are cell phones of mine, I drive OTR and at times, one or the other works better. 1st number better for about 5 hours or so..and, thanks again, Bryan! mtnwrks2@yahoo.comBryan@MuseResearch wrote:The iConnect products are probably the closest thing to what you want... although the newer Receptors have software support for multiple USB devices at once... perhaps the V2.0.1 software upgrade will help you out... maybe we should talk on the phone...

Hiu again, Bryan...One thing I've noticed throughout this painful spinning of vitual wheels in virtual mud, so to speak, is that none of my reports, ie Installation or System Logs appear to be updating...they aren't adding any lines to the logs despite four days of attempts, the last day is July 27th, 2013; I'm not sure how to check Receptor's system clock to see if it is current or not, perhaps maybe a B/up Battery issue here? As you can see, I've been attempting this Install with blinders on as well... Thanks so much, in advance, for any help you can offer me on ANY of these issues. Incidentally I'm running an old PC tower with System 7 runninbg on it, if that helps at all...Bill
And, I can't seem to find my 720-940-3122 phone right now, so, if by chance you were going to call sooner rather than later, use the3 303-868-2365 number..Thank you!

Hey Bill,
I'm wondering if you'd talked to Bryan over the phone or come up with a definitive about multitimbral use of the TriplePlay on your receptor.
I've been live-looping for over a decade and, over time, adding crazy effects via midi controlled devices and some VSTs (before my laptop went out of date and ultimately kaput). A year ago I found the Receptor Trio and talked to Bryan (amazing guy to spend quality time on the phone with folks) who offered to sign me up for the their artist program. I almost got the money up last year but now (muuhaha) I will be pulling the trigger in about two weeks. I just talked to a Fishmann rep today and he said folks have... been having the trouble you've been having with connectivity between the two. I initially called to ask if I could buy the FTP without the software as the Receptor has it already.
I don't know if you now have your 4tro but I'd love to hear how things are going for you. I 'spose i can call Bryan when I order the thing but I'm on pins & needles, man.
Cheers,
Stuart fishoutofwater

Hi Bill
Haven't heard hide nor hair from you directly on this matter, so I assume the iConnect MIDI fixed your problem? For what its worth, the new models have the ability to manage multiple USB devices at once...
I also believe that the 2.0.1 software upgrade for Receptor 2 improves USB functionality, but don't quote me on that!
