What the title says. I'm fairly new to Z2 so I had about 40 or so. I'm guessing "install presets" in the installer means, "completely remove all presets including custom ones, and install packaged patches."

I know, "back up your data, etc etc," but honestly this is the first plugin I've tried (out of hundreds) that has done this. At the very least it would've been nice to have the installer detect for the presence of Zebra2.data and warn me it would disappear if I didn't uncheck "install presets."

Take a deep breath and have another look around - it's HIGHLY unlikely that updating would nuke your patches!

Well I saved my original patches by creating new folders under "local" in the presets windows. This was version 2.54.

When I upgraded to 2.6 these were gone.

Has the path for patches changed since then? They're currently in C:\Users\Public\Documents\u-he\Zebra2.data\Presets\Zebra2 as of 2.6.

I did a full search of my disk for some of the patch names, I couldn't fine them.

Well, the installer does not erase anything. It hasn't happened before and thus I doubt this has happened here.

The most likely thing that happened is that you have a new Zebra2.data folder. There's a good chance that your previous folder was somewhere in Program Files and your presets are either there, or they are hidden due to Microsoft's directory roaming.

I found them! Woohoo! They were in the u-he directory in the 64-bit plugins folder (no idea why, or why search didn't find them the first time). While I have everyone's attention and or possibly almost gave some people a heart attack, can I change the Zebra2.data location after having installed z2? I'm going to put them in my DAW-wide patches folder so this doesn't happen again.

Feel free to delete this thread if you so choose, sorry.

Nevermind, reinstalled with a different patches path.

Yup, you can move the Data folder post-install, just follow the instructions in the FAQ. They're actually there to deal with file permission issues on Windows, but they should also work for your reorganizational matters. :)

Search in Windows XP could find anything. I don't know why the search in modern Windows versions sucks so much but it does. I guess the jarheads at Microsoft thought being able to find anything on your computer by just typing in a fraction of text or a file extension wasn't a priority compared to bright colours and shiny graphics effects

I've no problems searching anything I want in W7 really.
