Depending on what genre of music you're producing, this can be considered a huge deal. I just wanted to congratulate Urs and his team and show him that his synth is indeed being used in EDM by great producers. I too use it myself for my productions and love it.dalor wrote:So what? Hans Zimmer uses it too (and that's much more impressive IMO). Good musicians can create outofthisworld dubstep with OnePingOnly.
The fact that Hans Zimmer and Armin use it show users the diversity the synth has to offer.
Man, people are so touchy on these forums ...

Thanks for sharing!
Thing is, pretty much every major producer is using our stuff. However, we're not into that endorsement deal bullshittery aka "free copy for good review". All those artists are paying customers hence we can't go round and brag about them without violating our privacy terms.
Every now and then one of those mentions us anyway, which makes us happy

Yes, but he uses a lot stuff also Synthmaster, Sylenth (a lot), Fabfilter... I think you will find most of the well known plug-ins used by most of the producers.
It seems that Diva has not such a big usage (in this style of music) yet, maybe this will change with the new synth type

That's true. The various EDM producers I am aware of don't really use Diva. In genres like trance, there's a huge need for layering heaps of sounds and maybe Diva's high CPU usage doesn't quite fit the bill for such tracks. I could imagine it being used more for genres where there are fewer layers but each of the layers matter more.4damind wrote:Yes, but he uses a lot stuff also Synthmaster, Sylenth (a lot), Fabfilter... It'll definitely be interesting to see if its EDM userbase grows with the new stuff coming up.

Wasn't ment to be aggressive - almost ALL EDM artists use the same softsynths you already have in your very own arsenal. Armin also uses Synthmaster, Atmosphere, Stylus.. so what.re_mute wrote:dalor wrote:So what? Hans Zimmer uses it too (and that's much more impressive IMO). And of course that goes double if they happen to have a law degree, like Armin does.Urs wrote:Thing is, pretty much every major producer is using our stuff. Of course you could just sneak a tiny clause into your EULA that says "we're entitled to brag about you using our stuff." And perhaps also offer an alternative "sekrit weapon" version license, where you don't get to brag but get 10% of their royalties.

I can never figure out why anyone cares who is using what. Most artists go through gear faster than underwear. Jordan Rudess is my current favorite. I think he's endorsed every keyboard or control device brought to market in the last 10 years.
The usual difference is that names you recognize at some point were able to be productive regardless of what they are using, not because of it.

If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer
