He's also mentioned using Zebra, and from what i remember also that he'd switch to that exclusively for live performancesUrs wrote:Affirmative, he mentioned that on Facebook.Aiynzahev wrote:The Thrillseekers uses Diva

What's most interesting about that AvB vid is that he has a room full of nice hardware synths (e.g., Andromeda, NL3, Virus, Moog), but skimming through the vid, all I saw/heard in that track was soft synths (e.g., Zebra, Twin2, Omni, Nexus2, Synthmaster).4damind wrote:Yes, but he uses a lot stuff also Synthmaster, Sylenth (a lot), Fabfilter... I think you will find most of the well known plug-ins used by most of the producers.

Urs, can you convince Steve and Armin to provide you with some of their presets for future updates to each synth?
Would be wonderful to have Trance oriented patches bundled with the U-he synthesizers.

Well, i think that Diva is like a duck to water when we talk about 80's electro stuff (Aux88, Cybotron, Dopplereffekt, Drexciya, Model500, Mr Velcro Fastener etc), that could be always considered as EDM.soundpalace wrote:That's true. The various EDM producers I am aware of don't really use Diva. In genres like trance, there's a huge need for layering heaps of sounds
When i need for an 80's electro bassline i put diva into the rack with closed eyes.
Also for other sounds if you consider the hw synths available in the first electro's era.
Of course that's from a not famous producer point of view.

I find it amusing that he's using Live for something so basic which can easily be done right in Logic with the rest of his production. Any feature which he said he likes about Live, is also in Logic.
Bouncing down each track automatically for the drums in Live? Yea, that's also in Logic, but guess what... Armin, you wouldn't even have to bounce them down individually if you just stayed in Logic for your incredibly basic task.

I've got three analog synths (ok, one of them is a Monotron) and three hardware digital synths and whilst they're a huge asset to me (apart from the fact that two of the digis have started to crap out on me - bad buttons and dodgy output stages) they hardly get any use compared to my VA plugins. Analog sound has always distorted and behaved cooler than naiive digital algorythms but these days the VA stuff is so good at fooling the ear (especially DIVA!) that if I had to choose between software and hardware the decision pretty much makes it's-self.cryophonik wrote:What's most interesting about that AvB vid is that he has a room full of nice hardware synths (e.g., Andromeda, NL3, Virus, Moog), but skimming through the vid, all I saw/heard in that track was soft synths (e.g., Zebra, Twin2, Omni, Nexus2, Synthmaster).4damind wrote:Yes, but he uses a lot stuff also Synthmaster, Sylenth (a lot), Fabfilter... Interesting...I have a surprise for you. It's none of our business how some other individual like to work. Believe it or not. You may find your way to be smarter then xy (in your own eyes) but to tell you the truth one type of workflow can or can not be effective to you. Which means that we are all different,.djanthonyw wrote:I find it amusing that he's using Live for something so basic which can easily be done right in Logic with the rest of his production. For what is worth, you can tell and describe and find all rational arguments that Armin is doing double job to make task which can be done in single take from single application but at the end of the day this is working for him.
And quite honestly while his way may seems as a double job i can tell you that a lot of people know for him and his tracks, but i am pretty much sure only a few know for your tracks which are done with superior way of working..What is amusing there? My point is that it really doesn't matter when it's working for an individual...
