Am I the only one finding very irritating that Firebird shuts all ongoing notes when opening its GUI (tested on REAPER and SONAR)? Has something been done on V2 in this regard?

Thanks,
Mario

No.. :(

But it's more solid in FLStudio now, so thanks for that :)

I second that.

Also, where are the multiple GUIs located? I'd poke around if I weren't on my phone...

The other skins are built in to FireBird. Just click on the "Setup" button in the lower-right area.

Here's some of my stuff: https://soundcloud.com/shadowsoflife. If you hear something you like, I'm looking for collaborators.

This is a very kind and generous act by Tone 2. I'm glad Tone 2 decided to let the bird fly free rather than go into extinction. The Phoenix lives on!

I'm sure many people will consider Firebird as the best freeware synth for a long time. Seven years ago she was the best sounding commercial Native synth to me and she has stood the test of time by still sounding good today and still in my arsenal where so many other synths have disappeared from. Thanks Tone 2 for updating and giving away this lovely synth. Cults are formed from synths like this.
T2 Icarus is a must. SonicCore SCOPE is the most. As heart of studio it has my vote, cause XITE-1 is all she wrote.

I was going to test this instrument, the description sounded quite interesting. However, Tone 2's promoted "enhanced host compatibility" for the new version doesn't quite live up to its promise:

The synth crashed both Cubase and Samplitude ProX on my Win XP system, even though it's supposed to run on XP.

I have had individual VSTi's that crashed either of the two DAWs. But crashing both DAWs on a really stable system does say a lot about "enhanced host compatibility". :tu:

EnergyXT is maybe dead. But no problem.

While installing this, I noticed that the setup accessed and modified all my Sylenth1 banks, which reminded me of past scandals about Marcus' copy protection schemes. So a closer look revealed that the setup scans the whole VST folder (this is while the setup window says "creating directories") and looks at every single file. Filemon reports 'SET SECURITY' for every file, don't know what that means. It also insists on reading evey copy of 'desktop.ini' in every subdir of C, even if there isn't one :?

Yup, he is very paranoid. And yes, his installers do such a things. Thats why i am not going to even touch this freeshit..

What ? Modified ? How so ? Screenshots/proof ? I don't get it....I know the Zebra Gui "melts" if it's a warez copy after a while, but Tone2 changed another synths stuff ? I gotta say prove it on that, and if you can, I'll sit corrected, no war intended, just saying, that's a BIG accusation. And really, if it "changed" your settings or files, well, that's kind of awkward no, considering what that might mean ?

Personally, I'm more worried that the NSA "helped" write Windows 7.

Hehe, I was thinking that too. :) I mean most of the people are using newer Windows versions and all of them seem to be infected by the NSA data collecting and home phoning thingies.

And I second what Perimeter Sound wrotes: proof or it does not happen.

Sebastian
