Thanks for this, Liqih!liqih wrote:Dash Signature releases today a new exciting SoundSets Volume for EVE VSTi:
Just placed my order. Judging by the sound demos,
you have a real nice alternative to a dedicated FM synth. I don't use FM that much, but do like some of the sounds. To that end, I was trying the demo of Sytrus. If your soundset is 1/2 as good as I think it is, you saved me about $130USD. ($180 - $50)
Sounds like a deal!

Gorgeous sounds in this set. The price is well worth it, congrats to Rory. Has he done any other sound design that we might have heard of?
Cheers

Hey db,
I am Rory
Glad you like the set mate. This is my first commercial venture into sounds in this way, although I've been doing music and sound design for TV for nearly 5 years now.
I'm hoping to do more HQS sets for EVE soon

Just another KVR regular!
Of course I've seen you around here as Rozzer about a million times. Do you specialize in FM patches? Plz feel free to do more.
Hmm..how about a set of goofy/crazy cartoon sounds forGlad you like the set mate. This is my first commercial venture into sounds in this way, although I've been doing music and sound design for TV for nearly 5 years now.
Eve?

Maybe you should just work your way through vintagesynth.com?
BTW-Small criticism: why does every vsti insist on putting several EP's in the sound sets?
There's nothing wrong with the EP's in your set, just that I think many of us already have a decent ep (Lounge Lizard here). The slots would be better filled with
more original stuff. Just a pet peeve of mine, no offence.
Cheers

Hehe, I'd love to! Let's see how this one sells firstdb wrote:Of course I've seen you around here as Rozzer about a million times. Do you specialize in FM patches? Plz feel free to do more.
Hmm..how about a set of goofy/crazy cartoon sounds for Eve?Something like the 'sproingggg!' sound when the cartoon characters eyes pop out of his head?
Well, my Access Virus is sitting here blinking at me. I know the mere mension of Virus sends people into a froth around here, but I bet I could make a kick-ass soundset out of itTresmon ami! Any general ideas for a set theme?
We've actually just licenced some sounds from hollowsun.com. I'm working on a vintage soundset that should be available soon at a nice priceMaybe you should just work your way through vintagesynth.com?
Having said that, I'd quite like the HQS series not focus so much on 'vintage'. I think WilliamK's FK series covers vintage pretty well, so I'd to take HQS in other directions.
Hehe, I'm kind of with you there, but believe it or not... some people still play electric pianosBTW-Small criticism: why does every vsti insist on putting several EP's in the sound sets?

A market of one, maybe? Can't imagine the market for that one being huge

A Virus soundset for Eve would have to be spot on. Not kinda, sorta, but nail the V. sound exactly!Well, my Access Virus is sitting here blinking at me. I know the mere mension of Virus sends people into a froth around here, but I bet I could make a kick-ass soundset out of it![]()
Vintage or modern, I mostly look for something unique.Having said that, I'd quite like the HQS series not focus so much on 'vintage'. I think WilliamK's FK series covers vintage pretty well, so I'd to take HQS in other directions.
For example, do a set of say Microwave, not yet another Roland clone.

I've nothing against ep's, use 'em myself. Just that it sometimes seems like they are used as 'filler' in soundsets.Hehe, I'm kind of with you there, but believe it or not... some people still play electric pianos(and Frequency Modulation does do rather fine ones!).

I imagine these sounds are excellent.
However as an owner of FM7, Sytrus and Yamaha's plg-150DX I think I've got FM pretty much covered !
What's the next HQ soundset ?

I thought about doing a Virus soundset, or maybe some kind of sound-design/atmosphere set along the lines of Distorted Reality.....
I'm open to ideas.

I posted this yesterday in the cafe and didn't think of posting it here till just now but it was done with one of the presets from the new HQS soundset (Verklarte) and just one instance of EVE - all in one take without additional effects. Hope it does justice to EVE's layering capabilities - it can make one instrument and patch sound like an orchestra.
Sorry if it's a bit long - I actually kept it short
Microcosm 1
It's not dance music - more modern classical with a hint of jazz

Well, commercially a Virus soundset would obviously be dynamite.Rozzer wrote:Haven't decided yet.basic channel wrote:What's the next HQ soundset ?

aMUSEd - nice piece! And all one patch too
floyd - I don't have a huge hardware collection myself, but I can beg/borrow quite a few interesting pieces, so we'll see
What I'd really like is a nice big modular system to play with. Maybe a Roland 100M or something similar
(I can dream right?)
