Not that I have *any* Tone 2 software installed on my computer (just haven't seen anything that I have the need for), but *if* the installer does do questionable things (even if stated in the EULA), how different is it than the NSA spying on us?

"If you've got nothing to hide, you've got nothing to worry about" doesn't cut it with me.

I do my best to read the EULAs. I don't know how many times I had to exit out of Apple's installers because I planned on using iTunes to build nuclear weapons.

(ATTENTION NSA - THAT WAS A JOKE.)
Remember the iLokalypse Summer 2013

Samples and presets and free stuff!

Expect to read that on wiki leaks in a few years time when another brave hero comes forth.

And the phrase 'Trojan horse', which has a long history of usage, is somewhat different to 'a trojan'.
Don't act like i am stupid or like you don't understand me.
No Ingo, you misunderstood me. I very carefully used the phrase 'Trojan horse', intending the classical sense - ie, a gift that conceals, particularly one deceptively used to gain entry - and, imo, the Firebird installer is just that.

If I'd intended trojan in the narrower, self-replicating malware sense, I'd have written 'it installs a trojan' or similar.

I wonder. The installer scanes for illegal tone2 keyfiles and then removes them.

Thats it. O words from tone2.

If iam a bad boy i would care a SH**. And reinstall my warez sh**.

So what ?

Or does it more if it finds a illegal keyfile ?

I could maybe understand when they do it on their payware synth installers, but on their freeware, no no... that's just bad style.

I think Hakey is far from being a troll here, this article in the Guardian is quite interesting in that respect:
http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfre ... sm-editors

People can be argumentative, without having to be called trolls.

Ignore the baiters, haters and Ad Hominem attacks, it only feeds thems to greater escalation.

Tone2! Have a real sale and watch the number of your supporters increase exponentially!

Well it was payware they decided to make free because it took too much to re-write to 64b. So why rewrite it all just to make it free?
:hihi:

Ingo, I've made a conscious effort to avoid confrontations with you. Please try and reciprocate.
