weird. i haven't used the AU version of dark zebra for a while. this morning i opened logic.. went to bring it up and it wasn't there... odd. looked in the component folder.. not there. looked in the vst folder.. all is fine.
quit logic.. launched live.. darkzebra there working fine..
so found my installer of darkzebra and reinstalled... repaired permissions in disk utility.. launched logic.. no zebra of any flavor available. strange..
downloaded zebra.. installed.. there it is in logic no problem.. installed dark zebra.. .poof! all zebras gone. weird.
the VST version is there just fine.
reinstall zebra latest version.. there it is in logic. installed dark zebra.. poof!
hmm.. did this a few times. repairing permissions every time. gave up and just installed zebra and left it that way. i guess i can just use the VST in live or DP for now..
anyone have things like this occur w/dark zebra/zebra?? it worked fine in the past. perhaps it's the old fun magic of an OS "upgrade" i did a while back.. OSX 10.8.4 so i could run latest bug filled crash ridden version of logicX.
btw - had the this same scenario on my laptop and desktop..

Not here... I have Zebra and ZebraHZ installed (OSX 10.8.4). Even when updating both are still there.
I don't understand why you have to repair permissions... I never have to do this on mine.

What revision is your Zebra and Dark Zebra, as shown on the XY-page?
The current Zebra installer is matched to the current TDZ installer which you can get through logging into our support page... we actually separated the installers to prevent Zebra from accidentally deleting ZebraHZ...

i didn't have an account so just created one to get access to the most recent DZ installer. mine are not matched.. Z2 is 2.6 and the DZ i have is 2.54 i think..Urs wrote:What revision is your Zebra and Dark Zebra, as shown on the XY-page?

the reason the VST version stayed put is because my uhe VSTs are all in one Uhe folder inside my VST folder... at least. .that's what i'm assuming.
so, just waiting for the confirmation email for the support registration etc to get access.

That's the standard. AU and VST3 are in the respective folders with all the others, but u-he VST2s are installed to a "u-he" subfolder in the VST2 directory. That's how it's supposed to be.dayjob wrote:my uhe VSTs are all in one Uhe folder inside my VST folder

not every developer makes that happen though.. many of them just go into the vst folder by default and are all in one long list w/all the others..
which isn't that big of a deal but then if you create subfolders when the next round of updates come around you have to make sure you direct things to the right places or you end up w/multiple versions of the same plug ins..

Yeah, unfortunately Zebra would always be two clicks away in Cubase... so we had to put it in a subdirectory, along with our other stuff. That was the lesser evil.

and there are just so many evils with all the hosts and formats. you must get tired of choosing.. but comes w/the territory i guess.
