Hang on, I'm lost - which 'sound' are we talking about?Urs wrote:Maybe we'll invest a Saturday and put that sound into our weekend project EDM synth as well. That should make it The Definite Choice™ then.

(After a minute of contemplation, I'm only half joking)
I think I was talking in a general sense about the dubstep/complextro/fadish-subgenre-of-the-month end of EDM, which I guess would be a whole bunch of sounds.

I'm just talking about the modem sound. It's like the antidote to supersaw. It is what a distorted bass is to a sine bass, and what growling is to Kate Bush.hakey wrote:Hang on, I'm lost - which 'sound' are we talking about?Urs wrote:Maybe we'll invest a Saturday and put that sound into our weekend project EDM synth as well. If Dominatrix is too edgy to be used. Then the EDM synth can be officially called Domina which is an old fashioned title for noble ladies.Urs wrote:I like Dominatrix![]()

However, when you go into Options and press a special button, Domina transforms into a Dominatrix and out come the leather, whips, and chains.

A Domina—in old English Law—was a title formerly given to noble ladies who held a barony in their own right. At the University of Cambridge, the honorific 'Domina' (abbreviated as Dna) is given to women who hold a Bachelor of Arts degree, but not a Master's degree.

Yeah, that. I think it's rather easy to do in DSP... we don't need to fully emulate a modem. A printer driver will do.hakey wrote:okay, all that gritty distorted stuff.I'm just talking about the modem sound
