Has anybody tried to install Nomad's current Blue Tubes on Receptor VIP?
The Blue Tube Bundle which is already installed in Demo Mode on VIP is an old version from 2006 and only to purchase in Bundle for $499 at plugorama.
The current Blue Tube Effects on Nomad's website are available individually and have one-click authorization procedure (no iLok required). The hole Bundle costs there $ 399 ...

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'll contact Nomad about this, and see about updating or at least lowering the price!

Basically, we fully check out collections of plugins and ensure that they work well on Receptor before iLoking them and pre-installing them. Since many software updates are actually bug fixes, we tend to not update the pre-installed software very often, but that can mean that we aren't always up to date with different releases.Talus5 wrote:Bryan, in the meantime, do you could clarify the circumstances?
Thanks
We've been VERY busy updating system software and adding new features to our host software, and now we are turning our attention to various plugins, so the timing is perfect to visit plugins like Nomad. Expect to hear some exciting news about software compatibility over the next few months!

Bryan, I appreciate your explanations, thank you.
Glad to hear about extended compatibility.
What about lowering the price of the "old" Blue Tubes at Plugorama, at least at the same price as the new ones?

Hi there
I'd be more than happy to lower the price on the older version of Blue Tubes, but its not my software and not my decision!
I did ping the Nomad guys and suggest we do some promotions, so we'll see what he comes back with...
Stay tuned...

Hi All,
The "old" bundle works a treat as is on my pro 2 and I use them quite alot (brickwall limiter is the only weak link imho). If you buy it from Nomad shouldn't you be able to crossgrade/transfer the license to the receptor ?
Maybe 'cause it's already receptorised thru Plugorama that's the easiest way of installing it; I'm sure Nomad/Muse will get round to price matching at some point ! Meanwhile I'm looking forward to getting a free day to download the new O/S.
What about If you are running a pro2 maybe they'd do you a double deal on the upgrade & plug in ?

Hi Talus5
If you want / need bundle then go for it or wait and see what Nomad say 'bout porting any upgraded version.
I've had the old version a while and find them very useful as they tame/control a lot of the channels very quickly. The easy GUI saves time so messing over pc screen is kept to a minimum. I use the receptor mainly jamming with all sorts and routing groups/aux to/from desks and/or recording. The sound control I get is great as is the ease of use. Very analog in sound & feel and did I say simple/quick to use. Introducing new plugins or mics midway thru a jam can be a tricky experience and that's where the bundle comes in for me. Great at very quickly controlling mad filter sweeps or errant musicians going bonkers on the mic where levels can go very red/loud/spikey/subby/piercie/dangerous etc etc .
An alternative might be Fabfilter plug ins where copying the authorisation works fine. The fabfilter bundle is a bit more expensive than the Nomad but ................
You wont go wrong either way (or both)imho

Clarification: we don't make ANY money doing crossgrades. Crossgrade pricing is set by the plugin vendor, and most of them do it for free, or charge a small administration fee (because they have to change their own records).Talus5 wrote:the crossgrade license from plugorama costs 100$... Just FYI, I have contacted Nomad and they haven't responded... I'll keep trying.
