About Halion 5... yeah Steinberg have a funny way of doing updates. It says if you bought the Absolute Instrument collection you'd get Halion 5 cheap so.....

Retrologue and Padshop (not pro) comes with Cubase 7 right? Well i bought the other instruments plus the upgrade to Padshop pro through their shop thinking i'd be alright for Halion 5 but that was not the case for me. They wanted full £282 or whatever it was.

So why do they bundle Retrologue and a basic Padshop then say buy the Absolute Instrument collection to qualify for Halion 5? Why would i want to buy Retrologue twice???? Some f**ker must think i just stepped off the banana boat or something mate.

So that's loyalty for you and at £282 i wasnt' paying up as i'd already bought these instruments separate hence £282 for Halion 5 or Logic X at £139.. which one should i get? Errr Logic x

I'm as vexed @ Logic X as much as the next person, but I don't think I could ever get that pissed. I'm just going to sit X out until the .0.3 release in a couple weeks (guessing) and then try it again. In the meantime, 9 is rock solid.

Bummer seeing all these bugs. I'm brand new to Logic. I'll be using it mainly for music production/arranging. I hope I don't regret switching to it due to glitches.

Logic Pro X is very buggy. They should have waited and not rushed the release. Did they even beta test it?
FCPX like failure all over again.
Just stick to whatever DAW you have been using before.
Maybe LPX will mature, in say, 4 years time, when they release a "new" version again.

It's the same story with any new release of any host, and after update 3 or something the forums will be awash with comments of 'rock solid now'. I remember there being a lot of outcry about Logic 9 as well, especially around Flex. A few updates later and everyone was praising v9.

Admittedly, this first Logic X release was unusually buggy and you have to question the time and effort they put into testing this. If they stopped the ridiculous secrecy around their development and involved decent beta test teams and feedback groups during development, Logic would profit from it greatly.

Of course, Apple thinks it knows best.

Fair enough, me too, I've got years of experience with Live, just starting with Logic. Thing is, although I read about a lot of bugs, not found anything yet that's show-stopping on my system.

^ Yea of course, each to his/her own. After a couple of weeks I can't say I've put LPX thru its paces like a power user would, just skimming the surface really with what I think is my rather simplistic way of working with a DAW - I like to do a lot of stuff at clip/region level then resample/bounce and move on.

Point being (to the other poster) if other people have bugs it sucks for them, f'sure, but if your own system works fine for your needs then don't worry about what doesn't affect you and just get on with making music. Man I sound like a hippy today. Sweet.
