Saving Before Crashing

Hi I've been having a problem where anytime Ableton crashes and i haven't saved my Synthmaster presets or any tweaking that i did, none of the data is recovered. The same thing will happen to me when i'm using Camel Audio's Alchemy but when i open ableton again, all the changes that i've made have been saved. Is this something that can be fixed through my own efforts, besides the obvious saving after any changes i make to any instances of Synthmaster?
