ah, thanks, BTW I'm gonna improve the Master Volume
adding some gain, putting the knob in Master Section
and making it independent from patch saving,

only saved in song, better?

The beta I have on my PC does not work at all - do I have an old beta? I downloaded from the link at the top of the page, but that was a week or so ago...

I don't know about the knob settings... isn't there any way to set it to 0db if it has no setting yet?

Actually, maybe having it save with the song works okay. But right now scrolling through patches to find a sound isn't much fun, since I always have to stop and turn up the volume.

yes I know it's pain now with the volume always down,

in the next beta it will be 0 dB default for all patches,

sorry just wait till monday for that, <grin>

BTW I'd need some feedback about Limiter
and new Degrade,

I tested both those things briefly last night. The limiter is great for those patches that seem to clip - there have been a few. It worked really well, as far as I could tell. I'm not an expert on limiting, but I really liked the way it sounded.

As for the degrader, it's exactly what I would expect from you. I own Trimmetry and Morphing Delay, after all.

Some great, subtle degrading effects when turned up just a little. When it's turned up a lot, it can be a cool effect... or godawful, which is pretty much perfect, no?

Hi Folks,
I continue to have problems with the beta on my machine. Am I the only one?

I have followed the instructions carefully, and although the GUI does load, no sound do - instead, I get an error message saying that the samples could not be found. Puzzling.

1) run the eve.reg file to add the necessary info to your Windows Registry

***Yep. Did this. I copied the reg file to th EVE directory and executed in there. Could that be a problem?

2) move your "EVE Banks" folder inside the "EVE Data" folder

***Did that

3) now you can put the "EVE Data" folder where you like

***I left it in the default location, then tried in another location. No luck either way.

4) copy EVE_Beta_TapeDirty0.3.dll in your "VstPlugIns" folder

5) open EVE_Beta_TapeDirty0.3 in your VST Host,
when asked select the directory where the "EVE Data" folder is

***Yep. Was able to open the GUI, but (as mentioned above) said it could not find the bank and therefore was unable to load any sounds).

I followed these step in the exact oder outlined above, but the beta is still not working. I am running XP. Curiously, when I do NOT copy the banks folder into the data folder, the initial preset does not load HOWEVER I can still load the presets.

Puzzling.
