Soft noise issue

I've come back from a long absence from my computer, and I've just started a project on MuLab UL 5.0.41, (which is what I was using before the long absence) and I'm hearing the MuLab soft noise, which is something that had never happened before.

I'm using the program under exactly the same conditions as before (nobody used the computer, I didn't reinstall the program or anything, I am using the same number and type of instruments as before) but the soft noise keeps happening.

What could be causing this?
