MDrummer 4: How to create a snare roll intro??

I want to create a snare drum roll to use as either an intro or a break (It would be great if there were already one in there and I just haven't found it). I want to then assign it to a midi channel so it can be triggered alone using the midi command method. I would like to use the same snare drum from the kit I have selected for the groove (Pearl Elite).
I am unclear as to how a created rhythm (like a smare roll) gets assigned in the Quick Setup??

You are talking about a loop, not a rhythm (which is the whole complicated structure containing possibly hundreds of loops). You need to edit / find the loop you want, disable random loops (otherwise MDrummer chooses for you) and use note velocity to select it. More about it in the video tutorials:

Or you can use MIDI channel 10 and program the roll directly in your host.

I've created extremely realistic rolls like this:
Rhythm editor> Loop editor> click on the Quantization panel. Choose something like quintuplet semiquavers. Make sure quantize is turned on. Click and drag in Pen mode to draw a line of hits. Muck about with Inaccuracy, Offset and Deflection to make it more human. Also, go to Drumset editor, choose your snare drum in the drum list, then in Advanced drum parameters muck about with Realisticity and Super-realisticity.

After creating say Rhythm 5 in Rhythm editor, you can of course choose it in the Quick Setup by clicking on Channel 5 (up on the right), but I get the feeling this is not what you're after. Also, just thinking about this and your previous topic about changing midi channels I can't help thinking that you would be better off just mapping out your arrangement using the loop boxes in one Rhythm (channel); E.G. your shaker in one Intro box, Drum roll in another Intro box (and a Break box), your groove in a Beat box, another groove in another Beat box....then your midi commands on your DAW piano roll call up whatever box you want.Marc2109 wrote:

Does this make sense?
Just thinking.

Both these replies were very helpful and it worked exactly. Thanks again so much.goldglob wrote:After creating say Rhythm 5 in Rhythm editor, you can of course choose it in the Quick Setup by clicking on Channel 5 (up on the right), but I get the feeling this is not what you're after.
