Any Stick players using these?

Been watching the Receptor development for a while. I use Guitar Rig, Kore and some other apps with my Chapman Stick on my laptop. I've been thinking it would be nice to be able to leave the laptop and go with something a bit more focused on the task at hand...processing both channels of my Stick separately. I know a lot of keyboardists use these as do guitarist, but haven't heard anything about Stickists or Warr guitarist using the Receptors....

Thoughts?

Its surprising, but we don't know of any Stick players using Receptor either, which is kinda odd, because it should be ideal for that.

I think the Stick's pickups are magnetic, correct? Do you know the imedance of the pickups? The older model Receptors have a high impedance guitar pickup input on the front panel, the new VIP has two very high impedance inputs on the front that automatically switch to low impedance on insertion of an XLR connector, and the TRIO and QU4TTRO come bundled with the PreSonus AudioBox 1818VSL interface, which gives you two very high impedance inputs, and then 6 moderate impedance inputs for use with Mic or Line signals.

The effects architecture combined with the super-low latency should deliver great results, and I'd love to post a video of you playing through one if you make the move.

I've been a fan of The Stick ever since I saw it played by Tony Levin at a NAMM show. ITs a great instrument, and I think that Receptor will do it proud!

I'll have to give it some thought. It's a bit pricey to jump in without hearing of anyone else's experience (Stick players that is).
The pickups are magnetic types. They do have one that is active. I currently plug into the hi-z inputs on my Profire 2626. The instrument works well with input impedance's of 1meg or more.

Hi des, I own a Stick, and a Receptor, too. And if I could only PLAY the Stick, I'd be in heaven. I have run it through the Receptor, which (as you suspect), seems to be an ideal rig for the Stick...two separate inputs/effects chains, etc. And I agree - having a dedicated VST computer makes a lot of sense. That's why I splurged and bought mine (for guitar, bass, keys, and hopefully for the Stick, but we'll see!), and it's definitely the centerpiece of my rig. If you get one, I think you'll be pleased.

I apologize if I get a little off-topic here, but one thing about the Stick to be aware of when processing separately is the bleed-through of the lowest bass string into the pickup for the treble ones. If you have any distortion on the 'guitar' side, the bottom bass string will have appreciable distortion as well...a fairly major problem in my view. My solution was to take the highest treble string off the bass side and move all the bass side strings upwards, to get them away from the treble pickup, and that has worked well. I may have the only 11 string Stick out there.
