Observations of kvraudio

Hi there,

I have a two observations about KVR:

- when signing up, kvr sends the password (...) as plain text (.......) to the email address used when signing up.

Guys: I couldn't believe it, when I saw it. It's 2013 and everybody knows that email is inherently unencrypted. It's almost criminal to be doing this.

Regarding the users:
There are 266911 users on KVR.

around 216000 have o (zero) postings.

around 252000 have under 10 postings.

around 263000 have under 100 postings.

I find that strange and wonder why over 200000 people would sign up for something and then not post a single thing.

Or are they all taking advantage of special deals and such??

Moved to Site Stuff, where Ben [KVR] is more likely to see it.

As for signing up and not posting...I don't know. I initially only signed up because you have to be logged in to use the search function.

I also signed up years before I posted anything iirc.
I don't remember why, probably also because of the search function.

I signed up only to buy something in the marketplace which I did via PM. So no posting initially either.

But 200000 really seems a lot. And as of me, I posted a couple of days after my purchase because I liked it here. I can't imagine that 200000 people just want to use the search or PM and don't ever want to post. Really bad.
