That's what i've done .i had seen this solution on another website.

yes 32 bits and i have the latest installer .

Do you think i need to install again UVI ? if so i would like to try with the old version i used before but i think i can't get it now ! It was the 2.0.9 and it worked a charm aprt this wav problem to drag and drop ( not all the wavs anyway )!

No need to reinstall UVI AFAIK.
2.0.9 didn't used the new iLok drivers so it's maybe related.

ok so if i can't use the 2.1.5 i would like to use the 2.0.9 anyway lol i just want to make music , those technical questions are really annoying to me . If i can avoid to use the ilok thing with 2.0.9 well why not i'm not a pirat anyway so ....

About the wav maybe that's because it's not into a specific folder ? I've let it in "My documents " , maybe i should place it in my samples folder where there are some wavs that work fine .

That's what i wanted to try before the new problem with UVI .

Sorry to annoy you all with my problem !

Olivier i'm sorry to disturb with this , it seems it works again after a new hand cleaning registry , surely there's something wrong with this ! Just hope the problem will not come again after closing my pc .

Is there something i need to do with the ILok license manager ? create an account or anything else ?

Ok so the wav file work , agin it was just a try i never done this before .It seems i can add a certain soundbank folder location , only the ones in C:Program files work so i made a copy paste of the wav file in my samples folder in C:Program files/Orion/samples and it works now.

Nothing to do. It should just work.

Cool for the sample but in theory you can DnD those from anywhere on the UVIWorkstation UI. Maybe it was on a network drive or something fancy ?

Sorry Olivier same problem tonight ! Can't open UVI !

Who can give me the 2.0.9 installer ! This 2.1.5 update doesn't work for me , still got this problem when i try to open UVI and the license manager !

It seems it's when i reboot my pc , i'm not going to uninstall and re install each time i run my pc .

For the sample it's sure , yesterday ..(when UVI worked well )..it was impossible to DaD or download with the browser from C:My documents i.e. but i could do this if the file is in C:Program files .

Won't happen in a near future.
We are working on that kind of technology but this is far from being plugged in the current engine.

That shouldn't happen as they have the same VST ID.
You probably have renamed the DLL and cubase is using this ?

Or it uses the version 1 in 32bits and version 2 in 64bits and there are not in the same folder on the HD.

Nope, you're not the only one! I managed to get both 2.1.9 and 1.1.7 working in FL Studio 11.1 (32-bit program on 64-bit Windows7)
[EDIT 1 DAY LATER: Oops... seems I was too fast. Yes it worked, both worked the day I installed 1.1.7 next to 2.1.9. But after a night and a fresh PC start, the project I created using 1.1.7 opened with 2.1.9 as instrument. I could change it back to 1.1.7, but that one now only played 1 midi-channel. I've now removed both and installed a fresh 1.1.7, working great, also after restart. Too bad though. The rest of my questions below still stand!]

I got to know UVI workstation a while back through Computer Music Magazine. As I understand it, it is the normal full-version of UVI Workstation, with a free instrument called Defcon. However, I cannot find the edit page for samples (ADSR, Fltr env, LFO's, PB range etc...) I see mentioned here. Is the CM version a cut-down version? I thought not?

At first, I was impressed with it's functions and thought to put it to use as a sampler. It didn't really live up to my expectations, so I didn't use it much. To be honest, I didn't understand some things, like the midi channels, which I do understand now. I'm sorry to say I don't have the bucks to shell out for the instrument library.

Lately I renewed my search for a good and decent sampler to use. TW16X and Shortcircuit passed by and were very good, although not the most easy ones. Then I remembered UVI Workstation and came back to that. In forum's I heard people about the missing edit page after 1.1.7, with screenshots and all. This was really a feature I sorely missed in my 2.1.9 version.

So I searched and found the 1.1.7 version. I read here it was not possible to use them both, but I thought to try anyway. The installation of 1.1.7 came with some error messages which I clicked to 'ignore'. Perhaps because 2.1.9 was already there. I installed in a different folder, and also the VST in a different subfolder in my VST folder. Both VST-instances have the same name (UVIWorkstationVST.dll).

Once I fired up the 1.1.7 version, I was blown away! Especially with the edit ability for samples was what made it to be my now future goto sampler. The LFO's are fantastic as modulation sources for instance. In FL I can use notes of different color for different midi-channels in the same pianoroll, so I can play all samples from 1 pianoroll. Although in a production I will probably use different patterns for it.

So far, apart from the Gui, I can't find many differences between 1.1.7 and 2.1.9. The most obvious is that 1.1.7 can 1) edit samples better and 2) save individual patches AS WELL as the full multi.

Sorry to say that for now I agree with some here that 1.1.7 is a much better deal then the 2.1.9, certainly when you only use the Workstation as sampler. Or am I missing something here?

By the way: It's amazing that such a versatile workstation is free! You could easily sell the workstation as sampler for money. Perhaps a version that is meant to be sampler, not a player for the scripted instruments. The drag/drop functionality alone makes it a good sampler for my workflow, and the editing capabilities and array of FX really set's it apart from a lot of other softsamplers. Creating kits, velocity-layer samples, saving with full fx chains... It's massive! I'm missing loop-points, custom loop-slicing and little things like reverse, but I can live without them easily.

With 1.1.7 I created a nice 4 bar piece with drums, bass, percussion and a lead in little over 30 minutes from scratch. I could not have done the same with 2.1.9 because this version lacks the edit page. Can't see it on Google image earch as well.

What to do, stick with 1.1.7 or upgrade to 2.5.4?

I would like to know if 2.5.4 has at least the sample-edit page? That would get me to uninstall all and install only the new 2.5.4 version.

After downloading, installing and playing through the workstation/digital synsations for a few weeks... I removed it and gave it away.
