Satin goes V1.1

I played with the Satin Demo a little last night and it is indeed a very nice plugin. I especially like the Delay and Flanger: Top Notch, but I cannot justify purchasing it at the moment as I already own too many high quality delays and flangers with which I can get similar results (with more work involved). The delay and Flanger in Satin are very easy to use and sound very very good; Instant gratification without having to tweak a thousand parameters. The included presets are also very good.
Regarding the Tape saturation aspect, as with all Tape emulators, to get good results (well at least to my ears) you need to do very subtle tweaks or the sound starts getting very harsh/distorted. I feel I already have what I need to get a good subtle saturation effect, granted I would love to have the extra options that Satin offers including the "service" section which is really cool.
Great job U-he. If I didn't already own a gazillion plugins (or if I had more money than I have), I would jump on this, especially at the intro price. I am still on the fence, leaning towards not getting it, but you never know.. I may play with it more this weekend and realize that I do need it's flexibility and multitude of options...
Ah decisions, decisions..
PS: Windows 32 bit VST3 version is not loading/working in FL Studio. I get an error message when I try to load it but can't remember specifically which one (not at the PC at the moment). Windows 32 bit VST2 version loads fine and that's what I used to demo the plugin.

Kinda off topic, but if you listen to tracks by Aphex Twin from a certain era, I'm thinking specifically Windowlicker and Funny Little Man, you can hear random blasts of white noise in the background of these tracks. They work quite well within the composition but I always wondered if he made these tracks with demo versions of software and what we're hearing are the "demo limitations"

I've enjoyed the demo of Satin very much. Great work!
I have one problem. I don't know if it's me as a user that is doing something wrong, or if it is a bug. I get a really ugly distorted noise whenever I turn up the feedback knob on the delay setting. If I use any setting where more than one delay would be audible I get this weird noise in the background. No, it's not the "vinyl" noise from the demo. I get that too of course.
I'm on Windows 7 64 bit using Reaper 64.

I am experiencing the same (and it's not a demo)Stollmeister wrote:I've enjoyed the demo of Satin very much. Great work!

OSX and Reaper x64 here, I don't have this problem.
With the Feedback about 1/3 or 1/2 up, I get the nicest "Radioshack Reverb" style metallic/robotic delay.

Hi U-he! I just boughed Satin and I love it! I've been thinking about it every day since I heard about it and I have checked these forums every day for satins release. It's really as good as I thought it would be, as a Diva owner.
However, theres one problem. I can run 10 instances without any problems in Logic pro X, but when I have the interface of one satin open when playing I get system overloads all over. It goes from 50% of cpu usage to a system overload by just having one instance of satins interface open. Is there any solution for this?
Greetings,
Alex

Me too on Win 7 with 32bit in FL Studio. Some of the presets with delay feedback have this problem as well, so it's not because I drive it too much.wald wrote:I am experiencing the same (and it's not a demo)Stollmeister wrote:I've enjoyed the demo of Satin very much. Great work!

And in Live 9 on the same system and audio driver there's no issue at all.

Just played with the beta a little and the sound is good. Did anyone doubt it would be?
One odd thing I noticed - the high cut knob in delay mode seems to be scaled differently to cursor movement when compared to other knobs (and certainly the low cut knob next to it). Anyone else getting this?

Are people just kidding about saying they bought it already? I thought it wasn't for sale yet until Monday.

If you're very brave and if you're distressed by the vinyl crackles of the demo mode, you can become an early adopter here:

Blending stuff in a mix by just gently squeezing and smoothing things over with ever the subtlest of blurs, pulling stuff in, out, backwards, forwards and around in the the mix, the dimensional/spatial elements are beautiful, almost Roland RSS 3D like quality, better integrity with and between the elements, more cohesion...prime glue, its smooth cosy and warm like a big winter duvet...I also find the amount of time to hear stuff sounding the way you want so quick, then there is the doctrine of abuse...

You can buy it on the first post of this thread. Not released officially though so I think you get the beta.
